6 month update

Hi all,
Quick update. I have been feeling better. My typical day now is doing house work, gardening, shopping, working part time (education), and visiting family. What a huge difference from being bed bound for weeks and then house bound for months.
I had a few days where I felt 90%!!!
My remaining symptoms are anxiety (I am still scared something else is wrong with me that docs couldn’t figure out or that I will relapse hard again. This virus was the worst thing I ever had to go through physically and mentally so I think those fears are reasonable). I feel a mild sore throat about 50% of the time and ear aches... some flu like feelings and now sleepiness. I still have intense night sweats but they come and go so I have those about 30% of the time now. In general though I see improvement and am just looking forward to improving more. Working with kids, I seem to catch a new cold or flu each week now that I’m back at work... on one had it is frustrating because again you don’t feel 100% but on the other hand you count your blessings as the new stuff wasn’t even in the same world or as bad as mono.
I think time and rest were the most
Important. If you’re reading this... you will get better too. I remember reading other people saying that things do get better and I found it hard to believe them but they do.
Be kind to yourself, rest, and unfortunately it’s one of those things that we just have to ride out.

That's good to hear! I Had a hard weekend to get through with alcohol and parties!it was good to have a drink and socialise, I feel 70% there, just a bit of fatigue and a lot of groin muscle pain which is irritating. Getting there slowly though

And for others who are reading this feeling discouraged because you might not have seen this progress yet, please have faith in your body to heal. I think many of us felt terrified and hopeless during the months we have dealt with this. One day your time to share your progresss will come, we are sure of it.

I'm so happy to hear you are doing better! I am also at 6 months and functioning at about the same level. You know you are doing better when you have days where you don't even think about your symptoms!
I went kayak fishing yesterday for the first time in over 6 months. It really took it out of me, but it felt great to get out on the water again.
I too have the lingering occasional anxiety about the most minor of things, mostly when I am tired. I still have to keep reminding myself that it's only the virus talking.
Other lingering symptoms are occasional headaches, fatigue, breathlessness and lymph node pain, but it is much less noticeable, overall.
Take it easy, everyone. Try not to feel guilty about resting and relaxing, as it is so incredibly important to your recovery! You will get there!

That's great to hear!
I'm a little over 6 months and going through a minor relapse this week that reminds me of the 3-4 month mark, but this too shall pass.
Before the relapse, I was also operating at 70ish% and there were some days where I completely forgot about the virus, was able to work out, etc.

Hold off for another month. I hope you feel better again in a few days... I know it is frustrating but you know it will pass too (little comfort when you’re going through it unfortunately). You’re in my thoughts!

Hey Van,
It is really good to hear that you have seen some progress. Things will continue to get better from here I truly believe that. You won't have to go through anything like these 6 months again, the next 6 months will be easier and continuing to work towards a full recovery! It was 9-10 months before I seen a major turning point, it just seems to be different for everyone.
It is totally understandable still to have the fears, this virus takes confidence away in your ability to cope physically and mentally, I know that for sure - but your body and mental resilience does come back with time Van, it really does - hang in there and thinking of you and remember the setbacks like colds and things can happen but they won't derail you from your overall recovery - you will get there! Trusting God with that!
