    Hi H

I would go by what the doc says because if your still on a roller coaster at 6 months the additional 10mg may level you out to mainly have good days. Though you will prob have side effects again. The fact you are having good days means the med is working.

    Take care

PS It did work before and will do again

If you are having good days, the meds are working. These things work very dlowly. Your dosage may slready be too high. How long have you taken them? What was your initial dosage?

my initial dosage was 20mg was on for years...now im up to 30..maybe to high?

very possible., yes. If you have taken for years, 30mg may be what you need. Your body and mind will tell you what is right. Give each dosage time to work. Minmum 4-5 weeks to settle

    Hi Heiserwulf

ive been on these drugs three times and managed really well on 20 mg but it took me about five months to feel really well. i would check with your doctor about dosage. Im in the same position as you but just started tonight on lexapro. 5mg im staying on this for acweek then moving up to 10mg and see how i go.

Hope this helps you but keep persevering. Once you get the dosage right you will improve eventually.

I'm in the same position as you, I'm wondering also to go up or whether this is a blip. My anxiety is really bad at the moment. Its hard to know what to do for the best.

I have been on Citalopram 10mg for over 4 months now and it is only in the last couple of weeks that I have really started to feel the benefit I was ok but feeling more normal now I think it is slow progress for some people and you have to be patient its not quick results

Hi Angela, I have been on Citalopram for 7 months tomorrow, so just hoping its a blip that people talk so much about.

thats a long time I was hoping I would continue to improve I dont know why we should get blips if its working properly I dont want to increase anymore as the side effects were not good for me

I have been on 40mg of this drug since 2011 and the side effects for me have been slow reaction times and subdued emotions so the side effects are not too bad (in my case) if you upped your dose.

However, if you want to come off of this drug in the future you will have to go through the "roller coaster" again.
