6 months on......

I had a THŔ six months ago but am experiencing some pain in my groin and inner thigh although the pain is not constant. I am still limping after walking around for a comparatively short time. Is there anyone else who is 6 months post op.? Thank you.

    Hi Mary

Sorry to hear things aren’t going well for you. Did you have anterior approach?

Please check on this sight for tendonopathy of the psoas. It sounds like this is what you have. There are numerous responses on these posts; mine being one of them.

I had exactly same symptoms as you. Issue being cup protruding & rubbing on the psoas & causing bursitis of the psoas.

Please check out those posts & inbox me if you have further questions.

Hi, Thank you so much for your reply, I had no knowledge of tendonopathy of the psoas. I am due to see the surgeon this week so hope for some clarity. I had hoped to be much further on at six months but rising from a chair and walking upstairs still difficult at times.

I have the same exact symptoms as you I'm seven months post op and this has been going on since the surgery.  I have told my surgeon and he had me have a CT scan with nuclear contrast and it didn't show any problems at all and then he gave me a steroid injection in the operated hip groin area I had a relief of pain for a couple of days and of course it wore off was most likely the anesthesia I'm sure that the steroid did some help but not completely maybe 20-30% which is not enough for me I'm still limping and I'm very upset I was hoping for a very different outcome from this surgery.  The surgeon told me at nine months I could go and see another doctor and he could do a procedure to release the tendon and that would be the Posoa tendon so more recovery but hopefully it would be the end😩

Hi Paula, Thank you for sharing your post op. experience. I have only seen the surgeon once since the op. but am due to see him again this week. Like you, I was hoping for a better outcome from surgery, the limping gets me down too when I'm out . We hope for better times. Take care.

i have the same problem.  I had surgery 6 months ago.  I have a hard lump there the size of a large softball.  I have Kaiser and my primary doctor doesn't know what is wrong.  They keep giving me appointments with a orthopedic doctor and they cancelled my appointment three times and had me see a doctors assistant who doesn't know anything.   On the 16th I have an appointment with a hip specialist, wish me luck!!!
