6 months post op after a Navicular Bone Graft/Surgery

Hello all!

I am coming up to 6 months after my surgery and still have a lot of pain and swelling after standing/walking (without crutches) for a short amount of time (less than 2 hours).

I still need to use crutches for short distances and wheelchair for long.

In addition to the fusion, I also had three screws put in my heel to adjust it.

Has anyone gone through something similar? what have you experienced? is it still normal to have this much pain and swelling?

I am 13 months post surgery. Foot is still painful and swollen. I can now walk unaided, but only short distances as my foot gets sore and swells up more. I am told it could take 2 years. We just need to be patient. Also, my surgeon told me to lose some weight. Easier said than done, especially after 3 foot surgeries on the same foot in less than 2 years. Just be patient and do not over do things. If your foot hurts, it is letting you know. I have 4 plates, 24 screws and several bone grafts too.
