6 months post op partial hip replacement

Had xray done yesterday..

Surgeon said it looked good.

But he also said my limp was unusuallly abnormal....n that my hips were out of alignment n added not from surgery....Cant do much bc I end up in pain....n he seems to say that's the way it goes sometimes n to take pain killers.

And when I ask him questions he gets bend of shape n says 1 out of 4 die within a year....n I come home very disillusioned n a mess.

He seems to be implying that this is as good as it will get!

Does anyone know if I can still continue to improve??

And what I can do to be able to walk normal n have a normal life???

    Cecilia,

I can only suggest you join a pilates class when leisure centres re-open, you can look online and check out some of the pilates stretching, it helps re-align the body. Do you eat a lot of protein? there is a case for protein and vitamin C being pain killers.

I broke my wrist three weeks ago and was surprised at how painless the process has been, even after surgery to insert a plate.

We sometimes need to take our own body in our own hands to heal, doctors are not miracle workers, they can only do so much. Doctors can only prescribe tablets which will ultimately do more damage to your body.
