6 week check

Just had my 6 week check and all is well. I did ask for an x-ray as I've developed a clunking noise the last week when I do certain movements. Nothing to worry about. It's just muscles etc. healing and regaining their strength. X-ray was perfect. My surgeon doesn't want to see me again. Got rid of the compression stockings which is Heaven! Feeling really good. Still got to take care for another few weeks but I can try and do more things, like reach my feet for example, listening to my body. If it feels like too much of a strain, don't do it yet. All in all this has been a very successful experience and I would urge anyone having second thoughts about it to go ahead and have the operation. It's wonderful to be pain free and feel human again. Good luck to everyone.

Well done there Marion, enjoy using that new hip wisely..

I hope that rose0000 takes good note of your positive post - she needs the encouragement to go for it.

Still get a clunk or click in my right hip 3 years on if I move a certain way.

Dr tells me it is a big tendon slipping over a boney part of my hip, does not cause me any pain or discomfort.

Thanks for this, Lyn. It's always nice to hear that somebody else has the same experience. It gives extra confidence and I've come to the conclusion that getting over this operation is as much about confidence as anything physical.
