I'm seeing surgeon on Wednesday this week and was wondering what to expect ??? I'm a little worried he might drag my hip about and hurt me 😪. What will he expect from me ??

    Hi Bobbie

I past my 6 weeks check up last Wednesday. Do not worry , its sipmle. He/she will ask you a lot of questions...like..do you have any pain, do you still take any painkillers, do you make your exsercises regulary, sre you using one or two crutches outside (inside).....

Then will check your scar is it fine. Will ask you to lift your operated leg standing and stay just on it. Then you'll lie down on the couch to check on contraction leg knee. Nothing scary smile

Everything was fine with me, but I have to keep 90 degrees restriction for another 6 weeks.

    Good luck on Wednesday! smile

Thank you that's so reassuring 😅. I can cope with that . Im terrified to move past 90 degrees and think I will be for a very long time 😂

He won't touch you - will my surgeon barely glanced at me, he watched me walk, asked a few questions and that was it! Good idea to put together a list of questions before you go as the mind tends to go blank. Six weeks is such a milestone - well done!

Ohh gosh Anna 🙁, that's not good , I wouldn't be happy with that at all . Make sure you get to see a good physiotherapist , that is so important 😳.

If you can get referral for physiotherapy that will help you so much 😉. Knee turning out is often so easily sorted out . It's normally caused by tight IT , simple exercises will sort that out . I can't stress enough how important it is to have physiotherpy xx 🙏🏻

I had my check up at nearly 7 weeks, and didn't see my consultant, just an underling, who couldn't get rid of me fast enough!! ( They were running v late.) I asked him if my x-ray was ok, and he said it was fine, don't think he'd even looked at it at that point! He asked me how I was feeling , and he looked at my scar which was fine. I had written down some questions, and asked him stuff about sleeping, riding my bike etc. As others have said, it's definitely worth writing things down, then you don't forget what you want to ask. (We also had a big chat about skiing!)

Ummm , a definite theme hear with the 6 week check being very rushed or inadequate in general 😱. I'm wondering what Wednesday will bring for me 🤔🤔. Will keep you all informed 🤗. I'm wanting to know about leg length 😳. It's not nice feeling rushed as though we are non important , like they really don't care 😪😡. As if we haven't been through enough we're made to feel Like an inconvenience too 😪😪.

He will not try to hurt you - he may test how far you can move your leg, he did with mine last week ... he studied my face to see if there was any sign of pain, and he'd have stopped immediately if there was any.

He will probably ask you how you are doing, if you have any worries - best thing to do is write your questions out beforehand, that way you won't forget.  That's what I always do (forget, and write out my questions wink).

Thanks rocketman 😘, I'm a little worried because I have very limited or no abduction movement 🙁. I'm just hoping it's just a time issue 😳. Don't want him to try and move it 😖. An involuntary reaction from my fist comes to mind 👊👊👊😱.

you could warn him beforehand.  I was doing abduction exercises from day one ....... along with knee flexing and bends (up to 90 degrees only).

Yes I will forewarn him 😂😂. Iv been doing all my exercises too Iv been very good , the issue is my abductor is extremely tight , far too tight . The physiotherapist is working on it , but it's very sore if pushed too far xxx
