I got my PSA test results today. It has been 6 weeks since my completion of EBRT.

The result was PSA 2.07 I was happy with that.

    Hi Roger

that is a good result, I hope it continues to fall, or at least stay like that, well done.

    Good to hear.

What was your most recent measurement befor the Ebrt?

Well then, that is not "good to hear" that is fantastic news!

The PSA should fall post radiotherapy. Even it is falls slightly that is a good sign. It rarely falls all the way to zilch.

      Radiation certainly worked for you.

As joeven correctly says, hopefully it falls more but even if it does not, the hope is that it doesn't rise.

Thanks barney, I was totally surprised when my Oncologist told me yesterday.7

The worse case ( and it happens) is that the radiation fails to move the PSA. This usually indicates that what was radiated was not the problem.

Really pleased for you. My PSA post-EBRT has been around 2.6 for the first year, which I am pleased with. I have my first annual review on Monday so my fingers are crossed! Don't panic if you get a high reading - PSA 'bounce' is common after RT.

Thanks david, Yes, I have read about the bounce.

This is off topic, are you familiar with ALFUZOSIN? I was taking Tamsulosin, and my lower legs and feet were burning and itching. I know it was Tamsulosin was causing it, because I quit talking it and the issue went away. Went to my Urologist told him about it and he prescibed ALFUZOSIN. Had to have some thing, because my urinary issues not doing well at all. Now, after ALFUZOSIN doing well in urinating.
