Not unless cleared by your doctor. Any pressure on the ground is a percentage of weight bearing, even if it is minimal and there shouldn't be not pressure on the foot at all.
I did towards the end (around week 4) start resting my foot on the ground occasionally (which is about 5% weight bearing) but I know that some other people say that they surgeons said not to even do this - mine allowed it.
The nurses at the hospital when I went for my two week check up showed me an easy way to get up from a chair, kneel on something of a similar height with the bad leg. You can then stabilise to stand. I used a scooter which was much easier for mobilising than crutches, but this method also works with another chair, or turning over in a chair and raising up backwards.

Hey Brooke,
If you are not weight bearing after injury for 6 weeks its going to take a few weeks after that to get back to walking without any aids/brace.
When I went in for my 6 week check up they cleared me to commence weight bearing as tolerated, and then it took about 2.5 weeks after that for me to be able to walk without the boot or crutches. Even then, I could only go short distances, and could only navigate up stairs, not down stairs. I took till around week 12 for me to be able to go down stairs properly and for the limp to go. Swelling stopped around the 5 month mark.
I am now at 8mths post injury and am at full use of the ankle, except being cleared to play ice hockey, which I train for. For reference, I had ORIF for a single displaced fracture in my right fibula, but I also ruptured most of the ligaments in both ankles. I do PT twice a week for 1 hr as well as pilates twice a week. It is a LONG process for recovery.

oh my thank you for your experience i will post mine as it comes. the doc made it seem like since i was young and healthy i had that on my side to recover faster. i am pretty much wanting it to be a quick recovery after surgery and able to do everything i have done before and not let walking slow me down with the aches and swelling. i hope all goes well for you. i have heard your bone is stronger after a break so you have that going for you lol.

do you feel like normal though after surgery like none of the equipment bothers you?

for the most part the equipment is fine.
i have very skinny ankles so i can feel the screws through my skin and occasionally if i bump my leg into something on that side it will hurt for a bit.
Ive been told equipment can restrict range of motion a bit - while I have decreased ROM in that ankle it is hard to tell if it is from the plate or from the ligament damage.
my best advice post surgery - as soon as your allowed put vitamin e cream on the scar (i startex around week 2 post) because this will help it heal up well.
if you are in a boot - after a few weeks if you are cleared to - start gentle movement back and forth - to help it get moving again.
dont push yourself too hard but make sure you do all the excerises that the surgeon/physios suggest it will really help get you walking faster
