everything you are feeling is within the norm of this med.

    Hi rob

We're all different so for some people it may take longer than others to start feeling the benefits of the meds. For most people it genuinely takes upto 3 months to get into your system but like I said we're all different so it could take longer.

Just hang in there and give it at least a good 3 months. Just try and take care of yourself in that time and it will help with recovery.

      hi carl

thanks for reply, i was on 10 mg for 4 weeks then 20 mg for 6 weeks now, i seem to be stuck in a dreamlike state, a feeling of unreality, confusion & sudden fear!! i just want to be my old self again & feel i cannot talk to anyone about it, i guess i need reasurrance that its normal ☹

      Hi rob

It sounds like you are suffering from depersonalization which is a side effect of these meds plus with heightened anxiety it only makes it worse. Its perfectly normal even though it does feel abit strange. I had it for the first few weeks but it did eventually go away when my anxiety started to calm down.

Just keep taking these meds and find ways to keep busy and relax your mind. You will start feeling like your old self soon enough.

All normal side effects. They will subside in time. Youre probably experiencing effects from dosage change also. I too was in a horrible place until the meds started working well. Stick with it and be kind to yourself. Get some treadmill time in. It helped me tremendously. Good luck man. This forum is awesome for advice.

Hey Rob! Same here ups and downs.

Mornings are bad and days are up and down. Evenings are lil better for a bit.

Im on Celexa 20mg for almost 9 weeks and still not there yet.

Im not working now so alot of down time.

I try to get out for walk and exercise at bit.

    What

side effects have you had on celexa thus far? The doc wants to up dose to 30 but im nervous about it.

    Thanks Rob for the response!

      hi gsquez

my doc wants me to stay on 20 mg for a little while & im ok with that i guess.

for the first few weeks i had actual full blown panic attack twice, that only lasted 1-2 mins but boy they came out of nowhere! , i felt nausous and had a really dry mouth but the biggie for me is this feeling of unreality & a dreamlike state like im not really there! it makes me feel horrible , like im an outsider looking in, ive had a few really panicy situations like i went to get my hair cut last week, while i was waiting i could feel myself slipping away!

it sounds silly i know but i just keep remembering everybodys advice just hang in there!!

      thanks for reply

      i hope your good
