Hey guys I’m 6 weeks on 50mg sert and I still get anxious and have dark thoughts will this go away, if so how long? As I already saw people getting better at this stage. Do I need to go back to my gp and increase my dose?

Hi rose I'm also 6 weeks in and I'm still struggling with anxiety and bad thoughts. My doctor wants me to go up to 100mg but I'm scared too

Sertraline is a very slow acting drug. It is different with different people. 50mg is a pretty low dose therefore your doctor may advise you to increase. However 50mg is enough for some people. All I can say is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will get glimpses of feeling ' normal ' which means the sert is beginning to work. Always take your med at the same time and drink plenty of water. If you can't sleep get something from the doctor to help and try to keep busy. Keep reading and posting on here.

    Good luck ..

Hi Rose, it took me to almost 8 weeks to feel some relieve, but I still would get some anxiety. I am now on my 13th week and each day seems improvement, but if i have a very stressful day i will get alittle bit anxious. I am also on 50. I might speak to my doctor and see what he says. So it is normal what you are going through. If it still is giving you some problems after 8 weeks than speak to your doctor.
