i started walking, 6 weeks after surgery. i have a limp and it hurts to walk on when i walk alot, also at the end of the day my foot AND ankle get so swollen, how it looked at the initial time when the accident happened, is any of this normal?

My guess is your ankle and foot are very weak due to the surgery. It's great to get back to doing 'normal' activities but I wouldn't push it. Just ease into it. Or after walking prop your foot up. I developed tendinitis in my foot and it's getting better but I still elevate with ice just because. And when I've had a busy day I take OTC meds to bring down the inflammation. I want it to heal nicely.
