Tomorrow is six weeks from TKR and I know it’s going very well. 100% extension and 138 flex. Therapist released me Friday.

I recognize we’re all different but I’m wondering a few things on an average: how long before all swelling is gone? Pain level is not too bad. Ibuprofen and ice mostly control it but how long before the pain in lower portion of incision is gone? When oh when will energy level return and ability to sleep more than 4 hours?

Sounds like I’m whining and I am. Thanks for all input

    That’s an excellent ROM Pat. I don’t have pain at lower insciscion have it up the top. Are you still strong a Physio? If so, speak to them. I had to have deep massage in mine painful after but has helped.

      Hi, thanks for your insight. I was released from therapy last Friday. Hopefully the doctor will be able to provide answers tomorrow to several questions. I exercise every day by rotating what I do. That may be one of the reasons the ROM is good.  I can walk fairly well with no assistive device and am looking forward to being able to stand for longer periods of time

      Hi, 

      Yep, still sensitivity in lower portion of incision but much less. I think it’s mostly my impatience. Today the doctor was pleased for six weeks so I guess I just need to relax and wait.
