6 weeks post. Posterior hip replacement achy and stiff around hip incision

6 weeks post op and walking very well with no aids. Walking twice daily outside and doing PT excercises as i listen to my body..Off pain meds three weeks agos..tylenol as needed.. Just a lil achyness around hip incision area and assuming this is perfectly normal and will be off and on for sometime possibly...Driving short distances running simple errands as needed as well...thoughts..?

    Totally normal. I had anterior. Recovered almost overnight. At 18 weeks. No problems. Even running again.

    Im only 3 weeks uncemented posterior thr. Im feeling a bit of tightness around my scar which I assume is normal . Im off mends and counting the weeks down until im off crutches and driving. Good luck.

      Thanks for your reply..yes the tightness around scar is normal too...I never used crutches.. Used a walker for two weeks and briefly a cane....

    I'm at same time since my left anterior THR. Also, walking well without any aid though I do use the cane later in the day when I seem to be more tired or when I want to walk faster. The tylenol is also what I take when necessary, but only one 500 mg pill at a time. Since I rarely take anything for headaches, etc. that seems to be strong enough.

    I haven't driven yet, but not for any special reason.

    Only issue I continue to have is groin area of surgical incision isn't healing very quickly. Surgeon looks at it weekly and told me he "might" have to close it again. Little nervous about that.

      Thanks for your reply and encouragement .Hoping it will not be neccessary to do anything to the incision .
