    Hi Gill

lovely bunch of ladies on here replying already to you I know.

just wanted to encourage you. It's very early days yet for you. I read so many posts of ladies who did indeed 'bounce back' quickly, but everyone's surgery is different, (about 13+ weeks seems to be the real turning ooint for most folks, esp regarding work), and set backs with infections can take their toll too. My recovery hasnt been so straightforward and I may yet need more surgery due to some complications. I'm 7 months post op LAVH BSO now. My growths were benign thankfully, but still needed an awful lot of adhesiolysis etc as well as full works removed.  As a lot of the experienced ladies will remind us, you only get one shot at a decent recovery (otherwise setting selves up for later problems), so take as much time as you need, get as much help as you can, and if worried always see a doc..dont let them fob you off.  I had to push and push to be referred back to my consultant, who is now helpung me...my gp was no help at all sadly. Take care and very best wishes for the future x

Thankyou Karen that is very comforting what you have replied. It is so hard at times as you think oh 6 weeks and I'll be fine that coupled with thinking you feel a lot better in reality you'll still healing. I hope your recovery remains positive with the help your getting now. X

Thank you Gill. I found there was quite a lot of 'one step forward, two back', but you will see progress..just listen to your body..they say 6 months before 80% healed and another 6 months to get to 100%, for some ladies it's quicker and others longer.  Been blessed with a good surgeon/consultant who is doing her best to get me sorted. Now am no longer considered a cancer risk the wheels turn more slowly unfortunately, but at least they're turning. Hope your recovery goes/continues well.
