SIXTY-SIX PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS: Part one 1 - 49

These are very real physical changes and conditions. Some symptoms alarm a woman that she may be suffering from a serious disease. Perhaps you know the more common ones related to menopausal symptoms in this list. But many of these may surprise you, as they have not been typically associated with this normal physiological transformation.

1. Change in Menstrual Cycle, Cycles may get closer together or farther apart, lighter and shorter in duration or much heavier, lasting longer than one has been accustomed to. Menses may seem to take forever to begin with dark spotting for days until you actually flow, or you might feel like you have your menses every two weeks.

2. Menstrual Flooding can come on with sudden onset and feel like you may hemorrhage to death. Or it can be a gradual build up just when you think your menses will end and you start gushing for days. Flooding commonly accompanies the woman with uterine fibroids as she transits into menopause.

3. Headaches, Migraines, especially before, during or at the end of your menses debilitate and radically interferes with normal functioning.

4. Decreased Motor Coordination, Clumsiness, almost begins to make the woman who experiences this feel like she is certainly less than graceful during perhaps an already awkward period in her life.

5. Lethargy, a persistent feeling sluggishness physically and mentally, that seems to negate ones ability to do much.

6. Physical Exhaustion , and Crushing Crashing Fatigue that can come on so suddenly and grip you into feeling like you will collapse unless you stop this instant.

7. Exacerbation of any Chronic Illness or Existing Condition transpires as hormones decline or deviate from their normal balance.

8. Insomnia, this includes a new or unusual pattern of either difficulty falling asleep, or dropping off to sleep for a few hours and then awakening with the inability to return to sleep.

9. Sleep Disturbances sometimes are from nightmares, night sweats, or just a vague sense of restlessness keeping you up or disrupting your precious revitalizing retreat from this realm of responsibilities.

10. Night Sweats often begin between a woman?s breasts, initially a night or two before her menses, waking her from sleep, later more profoundly disturbing with up to total body saturation, followed by damp or sweat drenched chills.

11. Interference With Dream Recall interrupts the sense of normal sleep, if you are someone accustomed to vivid or at least some detailed memory of your dreamtime.

12. Muscle Cramps can occur anywhere in the body from legs to back to neck, and sometimes reflects the need for more calcium, or simply that your progesterone levels are too low.

13. Low Backache often worsens before or during menses, but if your hormones remain at low levels, you can experience it on a regular basis.

14. Gall Bladder Symptoms of pain, spasms and discomfort felt in the right upper abdominal quadrant under the ribs, which may be accompanied by belching, bloating, and intolerance to certain foods reflect the increased liver load with declining hormones.

15. Frequent Urination, or sensations that mimic urinary infections is a disturbing symptom often unrelieved by actual urination. It is often experienced as the sensation of needing to urinate all the time, even immediately afterwards.

16. Urinary Incontinence, the uncontrollable and spontaneous loss of urine, or the Urge for Incontinence, can occur suddenly or feel continuous, and not only in response to coughing, sneezing, jumping or running.

17. Hypoglycemic Reactions happen when suddenly your blood sugar crashes and you must have food now.

18. Food Cravings, often for sweets or salty foods, but can include sour or pungent foods.

19. Increased Appetite, especially at night and after dinner contributes to that unusual and unwanted weight gain.

20. Dark Circles Under Eyes can also be caused by adrenal exhaustion and thyroid dysfunctions, but no amount of sleep seems to eliminate it.

21. Joint and Muscle Pain, Achy, Sore Joints, Muscles and Tendons, which sometimes develop into actual carpal tunnel syndrome, or give rise to the questioning of other disease possibilities.

22. Increased Tension in Muscles demonstrates itself in those hunched up shoulders as you work or talk about anything uncomfortable, along with promoting lower back pain and a stiff neck.

23. Increased Hair Loss or Thinning anywhere on body, including your head, armpits, pubic area.

24. Increase in Facial Hair especially under your chin, or along your jaw line. It may be defined by generalized hair growth, or a specific and coarse single strand of hair that pokes out, even curls.

25. Unusually Hair Growth, around Nipples, between Breasts, down your back, places where your hair was finer, less coarse.

26. Acne, quite disturbing to any woman who dealt with this in adolescence and never thought it would recur.

27. Infertility causes grief in the woman who postponed pregnancy in her earlier years and now wishes to conceive, carry to term a healthy baby, and discovers she is unable to do so.

28. Loss of Breast Tissue begins with the decrease of progesterone production. Women often feel as though their breast have become empty sacs devoid of their normal fullness, with or without sagging.

29. Breast Soreness/Tenderness/Pain/ Engorgement and swelling, occurs particularly a few days to one week before bleeding actually begins, which usually potentiates complete relief of any pain or swelling.

30. Painful, or tender nipples have been described as this exquisite localized pain only in the nipples and suggests estrogen excess.

31. Cold Extremities feels quite strange especially in the presence of a hot flash, the combination of which is not impossible.

32. Being Accident Prone, bumping into things, not even realizing it until the bruise reveals itself later and then lacking the ability to recall the causative incident feels perplexing and a little scary at the prospect of something more damaging.

33. Hot flashes initially may be described as mild to severe flushes of heat waves, and for some women these evolve into intense outbreaks of sudden heat with sweating and turning bright red all over.

34. Loss of Sexual Energy, our Libido, can be marked by a gradual or sudden disinterest in sex, to the development of an actual aversion.

35. Painful Sex often described as if one?s vagina would tear open at the point of penetration along with feelings of abrasion during intercourse.

36. Vaginal Dryness, Irritation, sometimes accompanied by a consistent unusual discharge - typically odor free, negates a woman?s ability to be sexually active, or able to enjoy or be comfortable in her body.

37. Dizziness, feeling lightheaded and the loss of physical balance, and even a bit wobbling at times, requires pause in movement to prevent falling over or deepening into vertigo or feeling faint.

38. Ringing in the Ears, Tinnitus, can be experienced as a pulsing sensation, a whooshing sound, an almost musical or buzzing sound with a fuzzy sensation.

39. Abdominal Bloating comes on suddenly often after eating, or seems to be all the time, and can be visibly evident making you feel that you look like you are pregnant.

40. Weight Gain disturbs most women, particularly when it seems to happen over a couple of days, settles in the waist, buttocks and thighs, promoting a visceral thickening from the waist down, the classic middle-aged figure.

41. Fluid Retention, Edema, commonly with swelling in the legs and ankles, though not limited to this area and it is unrelieved by urination.

42. Palpitations or Heart Racing usually comes on suddenly, without warning or provocation, and dissipates spontaneously. The experience can be so wild and intense that a woman may become alarmed and wonder if she is having a heart attack.

43. Irregularities in your Heart Rate may feel more like your heart has just done a flip-flop or skipped a beat.

44. Constipation/Diarrhea, intermittent or alternating, results from declining hormone levels, which increase the demands on liver function and alters intestinal motility.

45. Tendency towards Candidiasis can increase, even if you have no prior known history ? and if you do, it may worsen.

46. Gastrointestinal Distress, Increased Flatulence, Unrelieved Gas pains, Indigestion, Nausea all can reflect intestinal changes due to hormonal imbalances.

47. Slow Digestion often goes along with the bloat ? what previously took four to five hours to digest, now seems to take all night. It seems worse in the evenings.

48. Lack of Appetite may be experienced as more of a lack of interest in food, going to the frig and standing there with the door open and staring blankly. Feeling completely uninspired, you busy yourself with something else and forget that you need to eat.

49. Changes in Body Odor especially disturbing when it seems to focus in the groin area, but can be anywhere on the body.

50. Puffy Eyes, not only from sleep disturbances, but also can accompany low progesterone.

51. Facial Pallor alternating with Facial Flushes is often intermittent with hot flashes.

52. Flare up of Arthritis worsens with low progesterone levels and increase sugar intake.

53. Loss of Bone Density, Osteoporosis, is not only an elderly woman?s disease, though it seems to develop over an extended period and is triggered by the decline of hormone production.

54. Dry Hair, Change in Skin Tone, Integrity, and Texture, becomes more wrinkled, and may begin the thinning process.

55. Changes in your Fingernails characterized by easy breakage, bending, cracking and getting softer.

56. Itchy, Crawly Skin with a strange sensation like insects crawling around under the skin ? quite different than the dry skin feeling.

57. Muscle tone seems to slack and sag, and loose its previous response to normal exercise.

58. Pelvic Pain can be random and independent of cycles and may feel continuous for some women.

59. Dry, Itchy Eyes felt in the deep posterior aspect of the eye socket, as well as superficially.

60. Teeth Aching or the experience of a strange sensation in one?s teeth or gums, often accompanied by an increase in bleeding gums.

61. Change in the normal Tongue sensation, which can be accompanied by a feeling of burning in your tongue and roof of mouth, malodorous breath or change in breath odor, and/or a bad taste in your mouth.

62. Memory Loss or Lapses in time, makes one feel disoriented and less focused, especially when you go into another room to get something specific and seconds later cannot remember what you went to retrieve.

63. Feeling Faint for no known reason (this does not include standing up too quickly)

64. Tingling in Extremities not only feels weird and like your hands or feet are falling asleep, but if persistent can be a symptom of diabetes, B12, potassium or calcium deficiency, or a compromise in blood vessel flexibility.

65. Sensation of Electrical Stimulation,or Shock occurring in the tissue under the skin, and may signal you that a hot flash will begin.

66. Increase and worsening of Allergies occurs as hormones become imbalanced, so can our immune system.

Yep, pretty much this exact same thing! Except it happens like 2 days before my period..it’s happened maybe 2-3 times in the past year or so, this pain, nausea, indigestion/chest discomfort..it’s very annoying but I’m now positive it’s perimenopause...I just remind myself I feel fine otherwise and this too shall pass! Keep in touch, this forum is a lifesaver!

       Hello,

Please read all my comments, they refer to this. Gerd and ingestion are very common at peri/menopause, try an excellent probiotic and apple cider vinegar, you will have to Google the Apple cider vinegar, how to use.  If your period has stopped, our bodies are still wanting to produce eggs that’s why you’re still having the symptoms.  It sounds like your body is trying to ovulate, that’s why you’re having those pains more than likely.  Unfortunately even though our periods have stopped, our bodies clearly are confused and they’re still wanting to have a period & still wanting to ovulate. So we don’t have the period or eggs but we still have the symptoms, my pharmacist explained that to me 😇

Yes, I had this pain, feels like I got hit in my stomach, then my breast on the left side was swollen and my arm, was in pain, I had to lay off coffee , because I believe the Caffeen has something to do with screwing up my hormones levels😣

Months ago I posted on here with many of the symptoms and severe panic attacks and anxiety. I had full cardiac work up, it was normal, they said I had gerd so endoscopy with gastroenterologist and they said other than a small hernia everything looked normal. Back to my regular Dr who is treating me like a hypochondriac. He put me on Zoloft it was awful made me very sick lost 25 lbs in 2 weeks. So got off. Drs and nurses kept telling do yoga, control your stress. Went to another Dr since my regular Dr was on vacation, she said I had costocodritis probably from anxiety and stress. She put me on lexapro and it is great! Took anxiety, panic attacks and reduced my stress. Now I can tell that yes a lot of my chest problems have all been the costocodritis. My brain feels normal again. Who h makes it easier to deal with all the other peri symptoms. I just turned 50 but my periods still show up like clock work. I can deal better now with all these weird changes.

Somehow my previous comment got completely erased, how irritating. When you mention costochondritis, are you aware that can be caused from fibromyalgia or wearing underwear bras?  And yes some stupid man invented underwire bras because he doesn’t have to wear one, think about what metal smashed up against your breast does all day 24/7, it’s horrible😡 Do you have fibromyalgia, do you wear underwire bras? I’m curious as to why you have costochondritis.   I’m not being sarcastic, so please don’t take it that way, I’m truly wondering, concerned etc. I am glad that you are feeling better, however, my concern with antidepressants is that it’s just a Band-Aid, as opposed to when one really needs depressants for depression or mental illness. It seems like these doctors are using antidepressants across a wide spectrum, to cover everything from head to toe. An example is, I went to my nurse practitioner at my gynecologist last week and she prescribed, Zoloft. My pharmacist who is also into holistic measures said to me, why would you take Zoloft when your body is NOT short of Zoloft, your body is short of HORMONES!  I’m not implying this with your doctor, however, I’m saying in general. It seems like all these doctors want to put everyone on antidepressants so they don’t have to be bothered with people. Again, I am not dissing antodepressants for people who have true depression or mental illness, but this is menopause, people, or peri menopause, it just feels like they’re trying to put a Band-Aid on sh**!  When my nurse practitioner wanted to put me on Zoloft last week, my friends and I had discussion amongst ourselves about it. And then what happens six months down the road, a year down the road, are we delaying the inevitable. I realize that Zoloft helps with serotonin issues, but again, these are natural serotonin issues, due to hormonal changes, it just seems to me, like it’s tricking the brain out of perimenopause, menopause.  And then what...how far down the road ...what ...you go  another anti depressant?  A friend of mine whose wife went on Zoloft, he said, she was like the same young woman he married for a couple of years, and after a couple years, it wore off, and then what, this is what concerns me greatly.  So many dr’s  want to put a Band-Aid on everything with everybody, but especially women.  It is a myriad of things, age, hormones, lifestyle, I really accentuate lifestyle, diet, stress, yes stress, it’s always there,  taking care of our elderly parents, we are all in that age group and that stuff is stressful, what we are really experiencing in our lives,  truly affects how we go through everything,  but especially during peri menopause and menopause.  Again, I am very respectful of everyone on this forum, their choices, their feelings, but anti depressants truly scare me, because these are, our, hormones, not a mental  illness, think about it, hormones fluctuate constantly, so how does an anti-depressant factor into that,  and I depressants aren’t hormones and they are not bio identical hormone‘s...  again... food for thought and respect to everyone and their choices on this forum  🙏

Hi I’m 44 and was told by my gp at 34 I had started peri menopause. Lately I’ve been having mild period type cramps almost all month long. I’ve also had spotting twice in the past week after being intimate with my husband. Not much just like a brownish discharge that lasted a short time. I’m due my next menstration in roughly a week but am never sure anymore as they’ve been irregular a lot lately. I’ve constant headaches the past few days too. Just feel crappy. I’m also very bloated. Is this normal

Hi I'm 46 and only have one ovary. My periods have been off and on, some light, some flooding, or just spotting for awhile but have not completely stopped. I have had bouts of anxiety off and on for 5 plus years prior to is what I think is peri menopause now. I am suppose to be ovulating this week and have had some pains on and off, on the side of my only ovary but nothing real bad. This past week has been extremely challenging for me, physically and mentally, my anxiety has bee extremely high, I have noticed when life gets stressful my symptoms are worse. I was fine the week before and I'm a basket case now. my symptoms are: I can cry for no reason, flutters in both chest and stomach, light headiness, headaches, nausea, no appetite, mild hot flashes (I did have a night that I woke up drenched which I have never done that before). I am up an down, yesterday was a good day I actually felt normal. This morning I woke up with mild hot flash which gives me anxiety nauseated, almost like morning sickness. I just have an uneasy feeling, PLEASE HELP!

Hey Melissa, this is a very difficult time of our lives. That uneasy feeling is so very common, one woman referred to it as waking with a complete feeling of dread in her stomach. For the heart palpitations try what’s called the Valsalva movement ,  you cough hard to stop the heart helps, which are called SVTs, and it really works.  I had no idea I was going through perimenopause for 10 years.  None of my doctors acknowledged it nor did they suggest bio identical HRT.  Look at some of my comments as they give good holistic advice and a book to read. Try lemon balm tea and also chamomile tea, very calming.  Try to do breathing exercises when you have anxiety, and just tell yourself over and over millions of women have gone through this and it’s a natural part of life. Unfortunately the symptoms are discerning and irritating.  I live in a smaller town so the PET, which is progesterone, estrogen, testosterone which is implanted in the buttox to help sometimes,  is not available in my area, but I have heard women swear by this. It’s Bioidenticle hormones that even  out your hormones and stop the symptoms.  You may want to look into that if you live in a bigger city.  As another woman advised you, cut out sugar, caffeine and alcohol,  makes all the difference in the world especially with hot flashes and SVT’s.  Go to my other comments there are suggestions for supplements you can take to help.  You will get through this, trust me, it just seems like it takes a very long time 💓

Thank you so much for reaching out to me! I am so happy I found this group, reading so many of these ladies posts do help and I realize I am not alone and yes the health anxiety is awful even knowing that other women have gone through the same thing and they are fine. I keep telling myself it's due to hormones but sometimes that doesn't help. I don't want to be on those horrible anti anxiety meds and depression meds. I want to try and beat this on my own It's just amazing how you can go from one day being normal to feeling absolute awful, and I'm thinking to myself what did I do differently from one day to the next....

Thank you again for the support and reaching out to me!

Thank you Lisa for the support! I have started using essential oils, so I pray this will also help. I  have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I will discuss with her about testing.

      Hi Melissa,

I, too, have had a lot of these symptoms. As others have mentioned, I have cut back on the caffeine and have gotten rid of the alcohol altogether, and now drink a ton of water all day long - it really helps! Try to get a good night's sleep regularly, too, if you can - it really helps! Best of luck - we will all get through this together. -Sarah

Hi Melissa, I feel exactly like you right now as far as anxiety goes. Currently I'm in a pretty bad spot. Anxiety is pretty high, especially health anxiety. I'm so heightened about any twitch, nerve pain, headache, stomach ache and so forth and I think the worst. My stomach has constant butterflies that just won't go away. I too don't want to take meds. I do breathing exercises and meditation. When it gets so bad I try to stay REAL busy to keep my mind distracted. This bad spots get me the most scared, like this will never end. I so much appreciate this site so I don't feel so alone. I keep telling myself this will pass, because it has before. I just have to keep believing this. I'm thinking of you!

      Kimberly,

It will get better! The first 4 years for me were so bad with anxiety and p anic attacks, numerous trips to ER in the middle of the night. Doctor visits over and over!! But 8 years later it got better..im able to do things again, go places and i learned to manage it everytime i feel nervous and anxious!! Usually i get it when im dealing with stressful situations..gone from having all the symptoms on the list above down to a handful..besides the health anxiety the body aches and horrible headaches were the worst! Not so often anymore!!! At the moment im dealing with sinus issues!! I,m going to be 53 in December and still regular periods, so im not sure how many more years i will be going through this awful change!!!

      We are here for you!

Hello Maria, are you able to ask your mother how peri/menopause, was for her?  I wasn’t really able to have that conversation with my mother as she was in the nursing home.  I think I was in the ER three times with the SVTs, the heart palpitations, over 10 years  and told the doctor I felt like I was dying in 2007, again, he wanted to put me on an antidepresent and said nothing about peri menopause. It’s just so frustrating the way the medical community takes advantage of women going through this, they know what it is.  When you said eight years my eyes got huge, but actually, I was going through perimenopause for 10 years and didn’t realize it,  and it definitely wasn’t on the radar of any doctors I went to.  If any of the women on this forum live out east, there is an amazing doctor by the name of Dr Christianne Northrup. She has written many books, been on Oprah, has her own podcast,  blog etc..  I’m pretty sure she still has a clinic out East. She also has a supplement called A-Ma-Ta, for women,  my spelling may be off.   I also wanted to know did you have a type of anxiety where you wanted to stay home all the time.  I read an article where it said that a lot of women just want to stay in the bedroom and close the door until it’s over. That’s what I have experienced the last several years. I attributed it to a very difficult time I was going through with my family. I told the truth about things that went on in our childhood that no one wanted to acknowledge and was basically shunned from my family.  I still really don’t like to do things,  but I also have fibromyalgia. So it’s very difficult to tell what’s the Pari/menopause and what’s the Fibro.  Also, it’s almost as if I can’t stand to do my make up and hair to even go out for dinner.  It just seems like such a bother to me.  Do you or any of the women on this forum feel like that.  I was prescribed Zoloft but I’m not going to take an antidepressant for what my body is going through naturally, as my pharmacist said, I’m not short of Zoloft, I’m short of hormones😉  He still wants me to get my hormones checked so that he can make a hormonal cream to even me out,   I believe in pharmacist terms is called compounding.  The very odd thing is that doctor would not even consider doing HRT, bio identical, the safe kind,  and it’s a woman?  Her theory is, your body is not making that, so why would I want to add bio identical, so I’m not suffering, duh!  From what I’m reading in these  books, HRT, again the bio identical, is what prevents heart disease, osteoporosis, and I think Alzheimer’s in we women, in later years.   So I guess I’ve completely missed the boat on that, because now I am post menopausal, because I’ve been with out my period for 14 mths. Even if you have Aunts that you can ask how they went through peri/menopause and when their periods ended, usually our patterns are very similar  with our mothers, aunts etc...I am a spiritual woman, and I don’t understand why God has women go through theissuffering,  very frustrating  and puzzling.

      Hi Kimberley,

I know it's hard, hang in there, we have to keep telling ourselves that there are a lot of women out there that are going through the exact same thing as us, same symptoms and we will get through this roller coaster of woman-hood! I saw my doctor yesterday and she confirmed that I have all the symptoms of perimenopause/ menopause. I realized the issue I have is I don't know how to deal with my body changing and the symptoms I'm feel due to the health anxiety. Unfortunately I didn't want to admit that I have depression/anxiety due to the change in life but it comes with the territory apperantly. She gave me some very informative information and also suggested I talk to a counselor to talk to. When she mentioned counselor I automatically got very upset because I do not want to be on any of those antidepressant meds again. Don't get me wrong, I am not against the antidepressant meds because they do help at first but after years of taking them I personally became numb and emotionless and that was hard to deal with because that was not who I was. She told me that a counselor is there just to talk and to help you cope a psychiatrist is the ones that prescribe those meds which made me feel better.

I was also told to keep a dairy of the changes I am experiencing, is it worse around the begging, middle or end of the month? Mine is worse around the time I ovulate, maybe this will help with knowing what could be triggers that may increase the symptoms at that time and try to avoid them.

We will get through this, even though it's tough, we are strong!

The health anxiety is terrible. In the last few months alone I’ve been worried I’ve had MS, brain tumour, Alzheimer’s, several different types of cancer, immune disorder, heart failure, ME and various other stuff!

Thank you, Melissa. Anxiety eased up a little. Phew. I made a commitment to walk 30 minutes a day for the next 7 days. I did my 2nd walk today. I know exercise helps and I need to remember this. I have been going to a group anxiety session. It helps with learning different techniques to deal with the anxiety. I sure wish there were a peri-menopause group I could go to. At least we have this forum. Staying connected is probably the best thing going for us right now. I understand not wanting to take meds. I don't either, even though I know they can be helpful for some. Take care and yes, stay strong!

I am in Illinois, where are you? Do you also find the heat is unbearable, it’s as if I can’t stand it anymore.  I remember my mom actually having crying jags when I was a kid, so that must’ve been during her menopause sad  It’s really interesting how you said that about going out and thinking something bad was going to happen, I never thought of it in that frame of mind, but you’re right,  interesting.  I pray a lot also 💓  I am now post menopause by a few months and honestly the hot flashes have eased up significantly, knock wood 😇  Last night when I started feeling a certain way, I said aloud, this is just menopause,  and then I started praying to God, and felt much better.  I think acceptance is crucial,  I had a friend who said she basically didn’t go through it. Come to find out, she was acting like she was her daughters age, which was in high school, at that time, she must’ve tricked her body and mind out of it ..LOL

      Hi Lisa

I'm in Florida, and you right about the heat !! I use to seat by the pool everyday , now 20 minutes and cant stand it anymore!! I do the same, i keep telling myself "im getting better nothing is wrong " this morning got up and gone out to run some errands and i got a dizzy spell out of nowhere, other times i will drive back home and in bed!        Honestly that sounds a lot like fibromyalgia, you sound like me to the T.  That’s what you have to do with Fibro,  you have to pace yourself big time. Like how you describe going out running errands and then you have to come home and get in bed, that really sounds like fibromyalgia. But the Peri/menopause on top of other issues, it really is a lot. Don’t be hard on yourself, I feel the same way, like my God, 10 years wasted, wth. It is maddening but we just can’t think of it that way. And I know what you mean about your husband wanting to travel, that’s the last thing on my mind also. My health worries were not just restricted to myself, they were also more about my husband. It is maddening but we just can’t think of it that way. I thought  if we went to Italy something would happen to him over there, I mean like the health paranoia gets ridiculous.  If you think of it mental illness is a  Chemical imbalance and Peri/menopause is a hormonal imbalance, it’s basically the same thing.  But it just doesn’t make sense to me why this has to happen to women.  No point hinking that way, I guess, we’ll never get the answer 😉  Please don’t be hard on yourself, cause you’re not alone, because you really do sound like me with the stuff you said.  And the dizziness is for real, I am, as I said before, postpartum by a couple months. and I’ve even fallen back in the reclinwr before and my husbands, like, what’s happening, I’m just like menopause 🤷???.  Do you find yourself unsteady walking sometimes, like you’ll be at the grocery store and think, geez I hope people don’t think I’m drunk 😂  That’s not just Peri/Menopause symptoms, it’s also Fibro.  I think the worry statistic is even more than 90% , I think like 98% of what we worry about doesn’t happen.  There’s an actual poem about this as well, worry, that’s been my favorite for years, it’s by Ralph Waldo Emerson,  I will find it and copy paste.  You actually sound like you’re getting towards the end, where it gets better😇

Hi Lisa, believe it or not I think fibro is from imbalanced hormones, toxins, etc. I was diagnoised with it many years ago and after detoxing, and balancing hormones i never suffered with it again. That was like 15 years ago. I think it all has a connection with hormones.

       Hi Mary,

There are so many theories on fibromyalgia, I have always felt that if I completely detox and eat like a plant-based diet it would be gone too. But my mother had it and it’s hereditary, so that’s why I don’t understand that part of it.  I sat next to a woman who had Fibro and Andrea Bocelli concert, she was filthy rich and could afford the best healthcare. I mean like traveling to Switzerland healthcare, she went to some leading Doctor Who specialized in fiber myalgia and he told her it was hereditary.   I don’t most doctors don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to Fibro. I do believe that if we highly modify our diets and exercise, meditation, yoga etc...it would all but disappear. But it seems as if I have also found a link with most people I’ve talk to regarding Fibro and trauma.  I know that if I have artificial sweeteners, that really exasperates inflammation, because they contain cytotoxins.  What is your diet like now for you to keep it at bay.  I do appreciate your input, as I know it is linked to the wrong foods and stress.

I didn’t get your reply till just now, sorry, or I would’ve replied earlier. You’re very welcome, I hope you were able to get some relief/answers at the doctors. I only use essential oil‘s topically, I have never ingested, just to be safe 😇  I hope you’re doing better, it will get easier, just hang in there💓

Melissa this menopause page has helped me so much. I really love these ladies! I read the symptoms that other ladies are experiencing and I have hope. I have been going though this for about 9 years. I have had so many symptoms: Hot flashes ALL DAY LONG, lower abdominal pain which I'm experiencing right now, Lower back ache, Interrupted sleep patterns, headache, palpitations, some pain with intimacy etc. The hot flashes are so much better now but I had to take Liquid Black Cohosh to control them. It really worked for me once it got in my system... about a month. I sometimes feel like Yuk, but I keep coming here and hoping and praying that we all get through this. Im 51 and I'm still going through. I have notice that stress is the worst! It brings heavy symptoms. Walking, meditating and praying helps a lot.
