Poor you Dominic
I was fortunate as I have a high pain threshold and only ever took couple of paracetamol for all I was bone on bone.
Keep positive and just think after this op the only pain you will have is healing pain. I stopped all the heavy pain meds after 10 days and a friend advised a homeopathic medication called Arnica. I admit I would have laughed at this however having taken it for a week and made so much progress I'm not laughing now.
Keep focused and this too will pass. Love light and healing friend. Any questions this is the place. If you get down come back and winge. We are all here to help you through. X

Hi Dominic, I also had to stop naproxen for the week before, but I could still take other meds like codeine. Wishing you all the best, I'm 3 months post op today!

The painkillers do very little if anythin for the bone on bone pain which i have but i do take them and other meds because of the two slipped disks in my back as well thats probably another surgery to look forward to 😙

Hi Dominic,
I was told not to take any meds on the morning of my op, but to take them with me.( I don't think you should be taking Naproxen anyway, they might be conra-indicated with whatever blood thinners you are given, but ask, just in case I'm wrong.... ) They were then put into a locked cabinet and given to me at my usual time.
I took my iPad and earphones, earplugs, just in case sleep was an issue....(I didn't need them, as it happened) wet wipes are a must!
Nice loose clothing, you will soon be wearing them. Good all round fitting slippers, no mules!
Good luck x
