7 months TKR

Here it is 7 months after this crazy Knee Replacement surgery. Ups and downs more downs.  I'm 54. I thought I would never feel better. Horrified that next January I have to have my other knee done and definately not wanting too :-(

For those of you feeling depressed and worried as I have been through this horrible journey, I just want to say finally finally I'm feeling like it was worth it!  I don't have as much swelling or pain.

They say 6-12 months  don't be discouraged, rest, take your time.

Has taken 7 months and now I'm starting to see a light :-)

never thought I would. Be patient!

best of luck everyone ??

I am 7 months TKR. Had op in November 2022. I am 69 now, operation went well. Pain is unbelievable at first, first 2 weeks are the worst. Physio painful but essential, I did it 3 times a day and visited physio as well. Post op with consultant was very pleased with my range of movement at 5 weeks. Found balance hard to get back at first, also stairs were tricking but having no downstairs loo I was forced to use them. Non operated knee has now decided to give up on me, so looking at another ref8 and repeat of operation. Got depressed at times due to pain but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Scar healed particularly well byt I am a good healer. Mentally this operation is tough as well as physically. Thyroid has decide to play up again, not sure if this is due to stress or perhaps post Covid. Was diagnosed with Graves disease (hyperactive thyroid ) back in 2008.

Anyway to all of you out there, it's worth the pain as my knee is a bit stiff but totally pain free. Good luck everyone
