7 year fissure - almost 8 weeks after LIS and still getting pain
Posted , 3 users are following.
I feel better than i did before surgery. stool is soft but i'm still getting pin pricks and soreness from the fissure during a bm. there is no pain or spasms afterwards. it's only during a bm that pain occurs.
I wanted to know:
if anyone else still had pain at this point after LIS, but eventually managed to completely heal.
also when does one know if LIS has completely failed?
if LIS fails, what is the next option? would a 2nd LIS help?

I'm in the same boat as you are, unfortunately. I'm 3 months post op and still in pain. I CANNOT imagine having the surgery again

how are you feeling now? have you seen your CRS recently?

ugh!!! Unfortunately, I am scheduled to have my 2nd fissurectomy and LIS one week from today. I cannot believe that I have to go through this, yet again. I'm absolutely dreading it, to put it mildly.
How are you doing???

in january i saw my CRS and he gave me diltiazem and said he may have to do another LIS as he was very conservative with the first cut because i'm a woman.
the diltiazem didn't make one bit of difference and was giving me a bad rash so i stopped using it
then i read on another forum that someone had cured their new fissure by putting bio oil on it. so i decided to give it a try (even though it says on the packaging not to put bio oil on wounds) but at this point i was willing to give anything a try... it's been a week since i started using the bio oil and it's actually really helped decrease the pain!
my next apt with my CRS is next month. if the fissure is still deep, then i want another LIS. if the bio oil performs a miracle and is helping it heal, then i would rather just get botox instead.
also good luck with your surgery, hope it works for you this time around. also i would really recommend giving bio oil a try.

my doctor was also conservative with my first LIS, which is why he warned me there was a chance for a 2nd surgery. I will give the bio oil a try. Thank you!

I had my 2nd LIS exactly 2 weeks ago. I feel much, much better this time around. I'm still cautiously optimistic, yet hopeful, finally!!!

that's great! gives me hope that this can get healed.
i am scheduled for surgery next month. depending on how deep the fissure is, the surgery will either be botox or LIS

You have anal fissure for 7 years?

yeah. the pain has been on and off. i've had periods without pain. such as 2016 was an almost pain free year. but the fissure has never completely healed.
