I have posted a lot recently with different questions and seeking reassurance.  Just wanted to say yesterday morning I had a blip but feeling better during the day.  Felt like my old self again. Went for a long walk and out in the eve.  Haven't done that for ages.  Praying the sertraline is finally working,

my two difficulties insomnia.  Take my pills at night.  Didn't actually sleep until 4:00 am.  Woke up around 7:45.  I don't feel tired but I do know I need more sleep.  Also this throat thing.  Feel like all the phlegm is just sitting there.  This only started since I have been on sertraline.

    Hi Lynda,

unfortunately this dry cough and cotton mouth is one of many side effects to Zoloft, that's why I came off them, good luck with them, if they work for you that's great, but after 18 months they did nothing for me except ruin my sex life lol, so glad i'm off them,

    love Lynne.

Hi. I just started Sertraline 10 days ago. First week was pretty grim as I suffered severe nausea and upset stomach, but about 3 days ago these symptoms suddenly started to subside.

Have y tried taking your meds in the morning? My doc warned that Sertraline might cause insomnia, so I should take first thing in the morning. Despite the other side effects, I almost immediately started sleeping better!

Note: please don't make any changes without checking w your doctor. I have no medical expertise- just sharing my experience.

I too am experiencing very dry mouth, but not phlegm as y and others describe.

I'm surprised and pleased to find I am feeling much less anxious and less weepy after only 10 days. Last year I tried lexapro but after 3 months no effect except nausea when travelling. I'm pleased to find a med that appears to work for me.

Good luck with your treatment. Hope things continue to improve for y too.
