Hi,
I am just looking for some reassurance it can be better. Is there anybody who was still depressed after 6-7 weeks and got better later on?
This depression I have been feeling must be a side effect because I didn't have it before I started taking this med. Do you think it has to go away as the other side effects did, most of other side effects went away by now.
Thnaks,
Kind Regards,
B.

I'm only just over 4 weeks suddenly got hit by really bad depression last week, I very slightly lowered dose to 3/4 of a tablet and it seems to have lifted, anxiety still there but depression definitely improved. Someone else posted about newspaper report saying sertraline can take while to improve depression but helps anxiety quicker, other way round for me as hasn't lifted at all... Everyone seems to be different but lot people don't seem to improve until 12 weeks it seems, tough I know when everyone keeps saying it takes time!.

Thank you for your comment! Yes I know It takes time just I am scared to death from this depression thing, I didnt even have depression before It came as a side effect with this evil pill, I absolutely cant handle it, dont want to be stuck in this state 😦 and thinking on it makes me nervous and anxious as well, seems like the trap of the 22.. 😦
Forgot to tell it is all coming from that I see many people feeling much better, no depression at all after 5-6 weeks, I am in a facebook group called Positive Zoloft Support Group, has thousands of members..
Thank you
Kind Regards

i'm on 50mg, but taking 3/4 tablet now so probably about 37?. i'd had bad depression because of the horrible thoughts caused by withdrawal from zopiclone but not for a while. It suddenly came out the blue last week so maybe is a side effect I don't know. I think everyone is different, was previously on citalopram for 2 months had to stop because made hair fall out so probably got withdrawal from that. I did join facebook group but came out found it bit overwhelming all the negative comments. A lot people don't seem to get real improvement until 12 weeks. How many weeks are you now, i think it's true what others say everyone's timeline is different.

Sorry you are still feeling so bad. My main problem is anxiety and horrible thoughts. My depression did lift after I slightly lowered the dose but maybe because I'm having to deal with zopiclone & citalopram withdrawal 50mg was too high for me! I don't like Christmas either doesn't help. Hope you soon feel better.

hi, this time last year I clearly remember putting the christmas tree up and decorating it whilst crying and having no motivation what so ever to do it, I was roughly 6 to 7 weeks into taking sertraline, this year is totally different, yes I am stressed, yes I have too much to do and no time to do it but you know what because of this little pill I am not worried and I am not crying so dont you worry, it will be ok, you will feel better, it is just the medication trying to do what it is suppose to do

Thanks very much Sue indeed! So Sertraline helped you and you are OK now?

yes it worked for me and I am ok now, I still get the odd feeling of concern or feeling a bit down but this medication gives your mind the space to rationalize these feelings and help you accept that that is all they are, just perfectly normal feelings and nothing to fear
