Hi again Debra, yes this is a side affect but it will pass, you should feel much calmer but 3 months and even more so at 6 mths. Thats what i read as well as what happened for me. It takes a while to work but hang in there if you can as you will get yourself and your life back xx

      Hi Julie

It took you 3 months to feel the full effect? Do you think I should wait as I’m on 50 for 8 weeks or increase?

Thanx for ure reply Julie that as given me a bit of hope. Also for the past couple of days I’ve been feeling really emotional to the point I could really cry my eyes out. Due to feeling really anxious and feeling like I’m not getting any better. But I’ve been holding my tears back to the point I feel like I’ve got a big lump in my throat. Could this also be a side effect? Even though I’ve been on 100mgs for the past 7wks🌹

Yes 3 mths but bare in mind every time i upped by 25 the side effects came. I stayed on each dose about 3 weeks before upping by 25. Id say increase to 75 for 3 weeks until the worst of the side effects are gone, if you still have anxiety at 3 weeks, up to 100. The higher the dose, the longer you should try it for. So maybe try 100 for 4 -6 weeks, if still anxious, go to 125. But id def. give each increase at least 3 weeks to settle, thats what i did anyway. Whats your doctor advised? x

Yes its a side effect, i felt so much worse before i felt better. If you feel tearful, let it out! It is frustrating and worrying, i remember feeling that id never be right again. Well 8 months after starting sert i had 3 mths in Oz and xmas in the caribbean, whereas before i had to force myself to go to a supermarket! Before i got ill i couldnt have faced going on a plane to oz on my own! So you see, you will get yourself back, maybe even a better version of yourself! Have faith xx

Also, id say after 7 weeks, if it was ‘your dose’, it would have settled by now, so id up to 125 for 3-4 weeks at least. When youre on the right dose for you, after 3-4 weeks it will just click and youll suddenly realise youve felt well for a while, you wont wake with anxiety or be having constant negative thoughts and worries. Hope this helps xx

You will do, i have no doubt. I was so ill with anxiety, i couldnt see myself ever feeling normal again or being able to spend time around people or go shopping. In my wildest dreams i couldnt imagine being well enough to go abroad, for fear of something happening whilst away. I packed in my job last march and it took me til december to have the courage to try a different temping job before i went to caribbean. Now im back i need to find regular work, then i’ll know ive fully got my life back. Xx

I haven’t spoken to my doc about increasing yet. I was going to see her this week and let her know about increasing to 75 mg.

Ok good luck, all i can say is after 3-4 weeks on the dose that is right for you, youll feel well, you wont be waking with anxiety/negative thoughts.

    Hi Debra

I am 8 weeks on 50 mg as of yesterday and pretty much in the same boat as you. I still experience anxiety especially when I wake up and through the day. I don’t have much appetite and I just feel like I’m stuck. I am not sure if I should up my dose or wait a few more weeks.
