Are you working with a physiotherapist? They can give you exercises to strengthen your hip!! Have you seen your surgeon yet for post op?

I am 8 weeks since TRHR and have

Really no pain but struggling with my opposite knee. Good luck. Just take one day at a time!!

Hi Sue yes I had my post op check last week

didn't see consultant saw his side kick nurse practitioner who pushed my leg one way and

another said everything was fine keep doing

exercises and will phone you in 5 months to

      check on you..

I asked for physio and was told we only give

physio for knee replacement not hips I'm in

the u.k. I'm now hoping my GP can help with

this if not I'll pay for my own phys it's so unfair

when some parts of UK get it as I think all hippies should get it .Thanks for advice will post how I get on hugs xxx

Hi Anna.....I had a similar problem but that was because my other hip was severely arthritic and had absolutely no joint space left. Have you talked with your surgeon about this? Do you have PT? If not you can look up exercises to do to strenghten your hip on the internet. Hope that you get it figured out soon. Very frustrating to go through all of this and still not walking normal. Remember none of us heal at the same rate either so try not to compare yourself with others. Hope you feel better soon and are able to walk better soon. Hugs...Barb

Recovery is an individual thing, I too am 8 weeks post op, I can walk on one stick but limp badly without. Keep doing the exercises to strengthen the muscles. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

    hi anna,

so sorry to hear this, sweetheart - discourraging right? but not abnormal -

your body is healing and not in balance yet - maybe you limped badly before surgery and your body falls back to the habit - instead you are learning how to walk correctly - your body needs to be in balance , straight posture , stand on both feet - then start walking, lifting foot up, heel to toe- very chaenging to do in the beginning and someone should really be with you to correct your posture - it is thereor best to keep on using crutches -

I didn't get crutches but 4wheeled rollator., trolley, frame  which might make it a bit easier ...

Not sure when you are allowed to carry heavy things - 12 weeks seems too early to me, especially in combination with doing \stairs -

let us know how you are getting on - maybe invest in a good PT - ridiculous rules !1

    big warm hug'renee

weeks you know do you realise what this op
