8 weeks on 100 mg, Still much more bad days than good. Does it mean it will not work for me?

Hi Everyone!

A lot of people say It can take 8 weeks until Sertraline STARTS ( not level ) to work on each dose. I mean If you upped your dose the clock resets and It might can take 8 weeks again until the icreased side effectcts subside and you can notice any improvements? Only asking because my doctor said it should take not more than 4-6 weeks until level, its a big difference. I am at 8 weeks on 100 mg and still suffering bad, dont know If it is worth to wait a bit more or its just pointless struggling? Any experiences with it please?

I am in the same boat.. been on 125mg for 10 weeks now and still having my symptom of shortness of breath.. it is not nearly as bad as it was when I first started back in July 2019, but I expected it to be completely gone by now.. I have read, for some people it can take up to 12-14 weeks.. I don't know.. I am gonna be patient and wait it out. If I were you, I'd wait a little while longer.. at least to 12 weeks and reassess then.. best of luck!!

It gives me some hope thank you Andrew! I am so devastated so I need it badly.

Can I just ask how did you feel, how bad was it for you for the first 10-12 weeks? Could you work it through or function at all? I cant and thats why I am so scared.

Bulldozer, out of interest, what is the generic Sertraline you are taking and have been on the same generic the whole time or has it changed?

I started to take it because my anxiety was out of control. My Anxiety is OK now, but I feel very sick, extremely tired, brain fog and headaches come and go, occasionally have that desoriented odd feeling. No way I could work in this state, cant even leave the house mostly. I have some easier days but its rare and they are far from good. No idea What to do, but I think I will wait a little bit..

Hi SerotoninSurfer! I have been taking Sertraline Sandoz from the beginning. I was gonna try Pfizer's Lustral, but GP wont let me get one.
