After the 7th week on citalopram I finally started to notice a difference with having less anxiety and being able to go out and do things more, went to the gym. even went back to work after 2 months off. also started eating again after about 6 weeks of zero appetite and stomach issues. I am second time in cit and recovery is taking much longer I am also having therapy weekly. However, yesterday I started to feel low again and anxiety creeping in but I still went out with my work collegues had one beer and also we were in a pub where cannabis is allowed to be smoked and that definitely made me high from the thick fumes. when I came back home had anxiety attack at night had to take diazepam and today i feel horrible just with high anxiety and i feel like i am to square one. is this a blip?? so sad to be feeling like this after feeling better for a bit.

Sounds like a blip. Ive been on it since March and certain situations can cause me to have bad days. Im actually having one now. Triggered by something specific. Ive had weeks of great days. It just happens. Id take some time to rest and drink a lot of water if i were you. Keep distracted but not by anything too busy. Good movies, etc.

how long you been on cit and do your blips last long? they are horrible particularly after you felt better. hope yours passes soon and I hope this is a blip in my case, might be hormonal too.

Not sure what effect the canabis fumes might have had on you whilst on this medication but one can expect some 'off' days now & then, that kind of happens when people are not on meds.
Also it always takes a while - longer than we want sometimes - for the meds to take effect.
As I keep repeating I have now realised the extreme importance of regular DOWN TIME to balance ourselves & let our nervous system recover, this has finally helped me more than the meds BUT they certainly helped me a lot when i was in a big mess.
Take it easy & try not to worry too much about your 'blip' it will pass Please try to make real down time for yourself if you can that will help you more in the long run.
