8 weeks on generic Lexapro....5 weeks at 20 mg. Help!

I'm back. After 3 weeks on 10 mg generic Lexapro and as of yesterday on 20 mg. I'm feeling better. I had a really good 4th week, slept well, got things done. But this 5th week has been bad. The choking feeling is ever present, actually it's like a lump in my lower throat. I have a constant uneasy, anxious feeling I'm my chest. Not full blown anxiety, but it was yesterday. I'm not sleeping well at all. I wake up several times between 4 and 5. I'm doing everything right....I see a therapist, I cut out caffeine and sugar, I walk 4 miles 3-4x a week, I pray and use my calm app. The only time I feel okay, it's if I lay down and play on my phone.... But I can't do that all day. I have crap to do around the house!!! I'm just so exhausted. What is everyone feeling like after 5 whole weeks on 20 mg. ? Am I being impatient? I really thought things would be better by now.

I only take 5 mg but I was waking at 3 and 4 in the morning at first. I now sleep most of the night I just have other conditions going on. The lump that you feel in your throat may be caused by something. I would check with your doctor. Best of luck to you.

And this week I've had my grands so that's more responabilities so more stress so I didn't need more stress from not knowing what more mg. would do as far as side effects.. I'm holding my own still some aniexty.. That comes as the lump in the throat... And my mornings r not so good but I feel like that when I bump up to 10 mg. it might get better.. Praying all are doing well... Let me hear from u guys... 🤗 And 😇 To All....

Hi. Sounds like your hanging in there just like me. I still have the lump in my throat too. I sleep for about 4 hours then it's toss and turn and dozing every 20 minutes too 6:30. And I wake up with that uneasiness in my chest. I hate it. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks on 20 mg. I was on 3 weeks of 10 mg before that. It's very hit or miss for me. I've had anxiety all day yesterday and today so far. And off and on the past 2 weeks. I know one of the side effects of this medication can be anxiety. According to a lot of posts, and research I've done, the anxiety should have subsided by now. I'm beginning to think that this may not be the right medicine for me. I'm going to consult my doctor and another doctor who specializes in these medications. So we'll see. I felt my best on Effexor XR. I hope you continue to feel better and better each day. 😊!!!

Tammy... Yea I hanging in there but I feel like I need to bump up to 10 mg but kind of unsure as to how to do it because I've started out taking 2.5 mg. 3x a day .. I really need to take 5mg. Of am and 5 mg at night .. I'm just going to have to just do it and see what happens... Have u ask your Dr if maybe u could bump your dose down some and just see what happens .. U can always go back up r change to the meds u were taking b4 but I would try bumping down and just see what happens ... U never know...keep me updated on your progress...🤗 and 😇
