8 weeks post op ... ?? Sex

Hi

I'm now 8 weeks post anterior posterior repair. At my 6 week check the specialist said wait another 2 weeks before intercourse which is now. I know it's a very personal subject but I'm really nervous about having sex again. Is anyone willing to share how long they waited?

Yeah....I am right there with you. Way more nervous about this first time than the very first time. 😆😆😆

3 months both times I had surgery and even then had to use plenty lube and go easy. They often judge if surgery is successful based on being able to have intercourse.

I thing it took a little longer to be completely comfortable after posterior repair.

My surgeon said the new vag would be "virginal". Kinda wish he hadn't mentioned that in front of the hubby. 😆

    Hi Kym

My husband and I tried at 7 weeks and he could feel the stitches .. i was so worried about doing any damage and if it was going to be painful that I couldn’t relax either .. there was a small amount of pain but to be honest I was relieved to know that we could still have sex.. waited another week and tried again and was much easier.. I would just wait until you feel ready to try and make sure your husband is gentle and stops if you are uncomfortable.. I am 52 and it is like being a virgin again so my husband thinks it is fab lol..

I am just over 10 weeks vaginal hysterectomy with bladder and bowel repair but it is a much slower process than I was told.. best advice is to rest as much as possible and only do things when it feels right ..take care
