Hiya . I got my cast off at eight weeks on the 15th of July 2019 and couldn't move it much at all , three weeks on using the physio exercises its alot looser I can move it quite easily. The main issue i have now is my achilles and joint are still locked at the back and it seems loosening it will be a longer process. Try not to worry your ankle has been through alot the past few months... do your physio exercises and it will loosen , i found everyday i could do a little more.

YES. Definitely noticing a difference since I have been out of the boot but it just seems like I can move it around after loosening it but then it just goes right back to barely even going up and down.

Honestly..my ankle has stayed loose after the exercises but i do have that problem at the back. My physio said its a mixture of my Joint and achilles tendon that is causing it and it will take while to rehabilitate...it is so slow going that even the slightest improvement and im ecstatic...but then other days i worry it will never be fixed... I try to stay positive and push through the exercises but it can get me down x

Hi
I'm 10 weeks post op, almost 3 weeks out of the cast. With the daily hospital excersises, and physio it's loosening up. It's going to take time for my whole foot to be loose. I feel stronger daily , and do a little bit more each day.

normal, physical therapy exercises will help loosen up. you will have to deal with ankle freezing and stiffness at least another 3 mths. when you start walking and sitting down the ankle will freeze and stiffening and swelling but you will have to walk threw it....

so your a runner also, thats was the hard part for me. i run also about 3-5 miles a day before injury. i gained about 30lbs lying in the bed waiting to heal. i'm now back running and exercising daily but it took time getting back go routine. my leg was smaller than the other, ankle was swelling doing running, my endurance was short. 6-9 mths it took for me

Yes and I was actually expected to enter a police academy in the fall. But now im praying i will be able to by spring and if i cant im screwed off the list im on. What a mess. what are your thoughts on that? thankfully i havent gained weight but i definitely lost muscle. and i actually lost a few pounds from the less eating due to inactivity and im still trying to gain my appetite back.

hopefully you will be somewhat ready in time for fall. it depends on your rehab and how well your ankle respond to therapy.
