If you want to lift start at least small weights and carry at the front, low energy is normal after a general anesthetic and you will get better it just takes time, you can also feel low again a result of the op.
it will take time to carry heavy weights, I had keyhole but if I had had the full cut I was going to like it to ghaving a hysterectomy and recovery for that is also 6 to 8'weeks.
just be careful of what you do and build it up slowly.
Hope this helps in some way

Did you get discharge instructions from your hospital? You didn't say how long it's been since your surgery, but it's major surgery, and presently your body is trying to heal and sort itself. It can take a couple of months or more, depending on your age and relative health prior to surgery
Don't overdo and give yourself plenty of rest. Also, try to keep to a low fat diet while your body's digestive system sorts itself out.
Please let us know how you get on!
