9-11 weeks post op pain

an avid runner i needed both hips replaced at 47

august 20 a few days after 9 weeks i was feeling great and decided to try to run a tiny bit i did

20 min elliptical

Walk 5 min

Run 1 min

Walk 5 min

Run 1 min

Walk 3 miles

today im about 11 wweks anterior thr and during my regular walks im sooo slow and in ao much pain did i damage anything??

    healing cannot be rushed. you have been thru major surgery and traumatized . in 3-6 months short term healing to slowly get the ok from your surgeon to drive and assume daily routines. 6-12 months is long term healing when the pain is gone and some days forgetting you had surgery will be a good thing.

    hip replacement will help stop the pain. a great way to improve mobility and quality of life. its not designed to get all athletes back to their pre-surgery skills. new skills will need to be developed along with new techniques to walk and run to a varied level. taking care of your new hips will help them to last longer. impact sports is not always recommended after THR surgery.
