9 months and still got pain...ouch.

Its been 9 months since my right hip replacment. I am still in pain when I lift my leg, like climbing stairs, lifting leg into car, bed. It feels tight, sore all the time. I have all way felt it was to do with sitting way to low at 3 months. I had extra physio, and the xrays im told were ok. So what can it be. Im not seeing my surgeon until christmas 2017. I have put all my weight on, as I am so despressed and tired with my hip.. its doing me in. My feet have been constantly swollen since the opperation. Just dont know what it can be. Im am on healthy eating as I know they blame everything on weight. So I thought I would tackle that before I see anyone.

Hi dawn
ask them to check for impingement, climbing the stairs and getting in the car is really painful for me too, I can't sit to long either. Ask to see someone before 2017 good luck with the healthy eating,

Pain and difficulty then.. but over the passing month it has got worse, more painful. The swollen feet...well I dont know what they are all about... swollen, hardening heavy and sore day and night.
I must lose some weight and get back to the surgeon..

Hi Dawn,
?I've had the same problem since having 2 hip replacements for hip dysplasia and severe osteoarthritis in 2011. Xrays don't show tissue damage. I had an MRI pelvis at the end of last year, it showed gluteal medius tendonitis increased signal, hamstring tendonitis and gluteal muscle atrophy. It has taken a long time to get these tests. My problem is much worse now because of the time it has taken to get the correct tests. I have put a lot of weight on because walking and climbing stairs are very painful.
?Ask for a MRI pelvis.
?Good look.

dear dawn,
the valley of despair !! I know that place too well and find myself there still many times --
The fact that your surgeon wants to see you X-mas 2017 is all nice and well -- means that you are doing well ... however, make an appointment with him anywayh - just an in between check-up ... doesn't hurt ... cars get more regular check-ups than us people ...we take better care of our car, is what I am trying to say here -
there are a lot of things that might contribute to your discomfort - well, pain ...
I still have not find the right Physical Therapist yet who is specialized in THR people - I feel that my muscles are too short and exercise is just aggrevating it and make them shorter and kore painful afterwards --
I went back to PT (hadn't gone since Dec.2015... they were not listening to me anyway) and she was shocked at the little range of otion that I have 18 months post-op - Now she is deep massaging the muscles - so painful bit I can already feel the difference -
I have gained so much weigth it's not funny ... No matter what darling, you won't be able to lose any until you can move painfree ...I wish it was only food intake related ...
please, take care of your hip first - stop beating yourself up for being heavier and what others will say or think or whatever ... who cares -
find someone who will listen to you and let them know what you want ..
come back here anytime okay ---
no need to sit in that valley all by yourself ...
big warm hug

I have just been away for the weekend...im not much fun as the hip stops me doing so much... I got in the pool before I came home. I checked my hip out,, and while in the pool, I can lift it, swing it, streach it back, sideways, frontways.. it was great...but out the water...its just a heavy stupid useless leg/hip. So annoying.. .X
