9 year old with nausea for 7 weeks

Hello,

Our 9 year old boy started to get sick at night time every second night from the beginning of December. From Christmas, he was was sick every night. usually just before bed or sometimes during the day if he had eaten alot. He complains of pain in the left side of his abdomen.

He has lost about 5 to 6 kgs since the start of December. He is 147cm and 33 kg at the moment.

He has been to hospital where they ran a brain scan which thankfully was all clear. He was discharged from hospital without any further scans and is on a waiting list to see a GI specialist.

He has been prescribed losec (20mg per day) and movicol (4 sachets daily) for the last two weeks. He has also been prescribed motilium in the past 3 days. Apart from the medication, we have been mindful of what he is eating (smaller and more frequent meals) and dinner timing by eating much earlier in the day.

His symptoms of pain and nausea however have not changed.

He has no history of anxiety and is normally a very well and active child.

Any thoughts about what is going on or any actions to take are greatly appreciated,

I’m so sorry your little boy is going through this. have you tried to get him in sooner at another G.I. doctors office? I don’t know why they didn’t do more scans at the hospital such as in the abdominal area.

The only way to know for sure what’s going on is to run more tests.

I think I would call around and get him in somewhere sooner so they can figure out why he’s feeling this way.. I really hope he feels better soon!❤
