Usually after the 6 weeks and once your consultant saus that you are okay to do so.
I hope that helps?

Everyone is so different. I was told by my consultant that I could do anything, and in particular, relax the 90' rule, at my 6 week review. Having said that, I relaxed the 90' rule very cautiously, listening to my own body. Am now at 11 weeks and don't really think about it unless I want to get down on the floor or up again when I take extra care.
Good luck in your continuing recovery.

My surgeon said never or until I forget, with a rye smile on his face, I am gradually breaking it on occasion but only slightly as it won't let me do it, just comes to a dead halt. I am nearly 15 weeks and there are still days when I over do it.

BUT as in all else, it depends on how well you are recovering. As noted in other posts, the restrictions are important because they affect the muscles and other soft tissues that need to heal and adhere to the new hip - they are what keep your new hip in place and these same tissues were stretched, and in some cases cut during the surgery. So being gentle with them is key to keeping your hip in place and more generally to your recovery. Abuse them by breaking the BLT rules and you risk harming them, retarding their recovery and your full recovery..
So ... wait for your surgeon to give you the all-clear, is my advice.
