A bit of positivity

Hello All

Thought id share my 6 month check review with my Gynae.

After months of trial and error tears and frustration and with the help of this wonderful forum. I related to her that although the condition isnt always perfect i have learned to manage the condition. I have found what works for me. After my examination she said my vulva looked pretty much normal with no evidence of active dermatosis. She reassured me all was well. She advised for flare ups to use my Betnovate nightly for up to 3 nights then reduce to weekly for maintenance. She was a bit sceptical about me using sudocrem for chaffed bits but hey! I have been provided with a patient initiated follow up for 12 months which i can trigger which gives me some piece of mind. Soo i know i will always have to manage this horrible condition, diet, vitamins but wanted to share with you all it can be controlled if you have recently been diagnosed. Dont let it beat you!

So encouraging to hear some positive news from one of us. And you have helped me with some info here as I also use betnovate and never quite know how long to continue it for a flare up - my doctor had just said use it for a flare (but not for how long) and a week in every 4 to 5 for maintenance.

    Thank you and well done!

      Thankyou Sarb

Like ive said its always there but if you can get to 3/4 comfortable at least you can get on with life. I find overuse of Betnovate does aggitate me must admit but at least i recognise now if i have done so! She also encouraged me to use my Hydromol wash as a moisturizer too! Not tried it yet tho.
