A blocked bile duct due to gallstones

I had a CT Scan some months ago following a FIT test which proved negative but it was also revealed that I had multiple gallstones which were blocking my Bile Duct. This may explain the excruciating stomach pains I had endured over recent years but had not reported them to my Doctor because of Covid etc and my gallbladder had been removed many years ago. However, what I wish to know is should I have the stones removed or is it ok to leave them where they are? They do not appear to be causing me any problems and I do not have any of the usual symptoms associated with a blocked bile duct.
