A couple questions (now 4.5 months after Hydrocele surgery)

So, I don't know if it's considered normal, or if anyone else has experienced similar, but it seems there is still swelling--but it seems to come and go. I think it mainly likes to swell when I have to use the bathroom. Other than that, no pain.

  1. Is this type of swelling (when using bathroom) normal after this long post-op?
  2. I typically trim the area to keep clean, would it be safe to use a sensitive formula hair removal gel on the area (so long as I pass the "test spot" test first?) ? Or should I wait longer? I do have another follow up next week.
