A few questions.

Posted , 7 users are following.

I have posted previously, but to recap I am having decompression and L4/L5 instrumental fusion a week today. It's all happened so fast since my MRI 3 Sundays ago. I haven't had a chance to ask questions about aftercare.

If anyone has had the same surgery, could they tell me:

How long are you supposed to spend on bedrest?

When could you drive again?

When can you take the dogs out for a walk

When are you able to have sex again?

In order of importance 😂

Thanks

You really need to ask for a pre op appointment to ask all these questions

I've had my Pre op but I thought it was just to determine what surgery I needed-not literally a Pre-op! I'd been told in the clinic that I'd have a 4-5m wait. But following g that appt they performed an x ray with me standing up as my nerve pain only happens when I'm standing. Unbeknown to me my spine shifts and decompressed more so they've rushed through my op date.

I was in too much shock when the surgeon said it would be in 2 weeks to ask any questions! My mind was muddied as my son had major ear surgery (for cholesteatoma) 3 days before my surgery.
