A few upgrades to the Patient forum

Posted , 7 users are following.

Over the next few weeks, you may notice a new design and some additional functionality rolling out across the Patient forums.

We’ve been working hard to help you to get answers to your questions easier from others who may have been through something similar.

Attached are a few sneak preview images (not final designs) - the major changes to look out for are:

 • Homepage - We’ve tidied this up, so the experience when logged in and logged out remains consistent. You’ll be able to like discussions from your groups directly from here.

 • Groups - These have undergone the largest upgrade. As well as stripping back a lot of clutter, we’ve added related condition information at relevant points within discussion posts. We’ve also added new filters, so you can sort by recent, interesting or trending discussions.

 • Discussions - How you post and reply is the bedrock of any forum platform. A suite of new formatting options include lists and blockquotes, and there’s a spellcheck (US english only for launch). Any images you add (via file selection or drag-and-drop) will sit alongside your text, rather than being opened separately. You can preview your posts, and mention other users in your reply with an @ symbol.

 • Adverts - We’ve listened to your feedback, and while we can’t turn adverts off completely, we can be more intelligent on how/where/when they are placed. The changes should create a far more streamlined experience.

And coming soon...

?• Edit Post - The long awaited ‘edit post’ option has been the most requested upgrade for a while - it's not quite ready for this release, but is very much nearing completion. Hopefully it’ll be worth the wait.

There's lots more that will become apparent over the next few weeks. While we put the finishing touches to the next iteration of the forums, we look forward to your feedback on what we’ve been able to show you so far.

Sounds like your team has been busy and the changes.... sorry improvements .... will make the site easier to use. Nice to have spell checker back after so long but and an American one will make us Brits need to make our own corrections :-)

Are you posting this to other Forums as not every one  subscribes to the Chatroom

Thanks Derek - have just posted the same message to some of our more popular groups...let me know if there's anywhere else you think it should go so people see it.
