A Fib

Had this done a little while ago and am on the mend now. Trouble is that I have had a couple of episodes where my heart has gone up to 140 again. once was the day after I had drunk some wine and the other was when I had some wine with dinner. Does this mean I can never drink again or does it get better with time? I am not a heavy drinker but a social one and used to drink maybe 2 or 3 times  a week. When it happened my heart actually felt like it was hurting

By 'this' I guess you mean an ablation. Your doctor should have told you that a single ablation would not necessarily fix your AF so further episodes  are not unexpected. As a PAF sufferer I was told to avoid caffeine and alcohol and I've found alcohol can trigger an episode. The answer is don't drink and see your GP about your continuing AF and heart pain.

sorry never put that very well!! yes, I did have the ablation but no, was not warned that further episodes could happen, nor was I told not to drink. Thought I would leave it a week and then try a glass of wine and see how things go, dont want to go through life without a glass of wine but then, I DO want to go through life!!

Sounds like a good idea to cut it out. Are you all right with caffeine?
