A form of Eczema?

My partner has a skin problem on his hand and fingers which is appearing to worsen. He has had it for several weeks. At first it starts as small bumps like blisters, these burst then turn into sores then his skin drys out, cracks and flakes. He has been back and forth to the doctors. The keep giving him antibiotics and creams non of which appear to be working. He is now on another 2 week course of tablets but the tiny blisters are now spreading further over his hands, starting to appear on elbows and feet also. I have tried to do some research and it appears very similar to Dyshidrotic Eczema in appearance. Can you recommend anything else we should be doing while he is waiting to have yet another appointment with his doctor. Any home remedies? I have read warm salt water can help but don't want to make it worse.

My father suffered same and we visited different clinics, but all in vain!! Few dermatologists referred it as a fungal infection, but medicines didn’t really work well. I believe there is no absolute permanent cure for this condition.

Delete all commercial products which claim natural, but are full of chemicals actually. (lotions, moisturisers, creams) Go natural. If you need moisturiser, you can use oils like jojoba oil, olive oil products. No paraben, no toxic chemicals. Fruit shampoo can be good alternative to chemical shampoo.

Apple cidar vinegar compresses might help for blisters. Leave it on affected areas for 30 seconds.  You may need to take extra care for hygiene. We wash his clothes separately only after soaking in lukewarm water for at least 20 minutes.

    Hope it helps. Take care.

Thanks so much for your help, good points we will be trying those for sure. We did try salt water last night as we thought its better to try alternative to medicines hes been using, cant do any worse. It may have slightly helped but still very early days. Will try your recommendations and fingers crossed we will get the problem cleared and under control.

      Thanks again! :-)

I’m really sorry your husband has to go through this. My brother had the same problem when he was younger. Do you know if your husband has any specific allergies? If so I would recommend keeping this item out of his life as much as possible. If not I would try and get an allergy test done? My brother had a wheat allergy so after cutting wheat out of his diet the eczema went away.
