A little advice please

Hi

I have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for 4 years and after a lot of reading I am trying to overcome this which as you all know is a real struggle. I read that if you accept the feelings and let them come they will eventually disappear but you have to just sit and do nothing. I felt panicky and the urge to leave the situation I was in but I did stay although I talked on the phone for the majority of the time I had to wait around.

My question is has anyone tried this method and is the way I dealt with the situation ok or should I not distract myself in any way?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any feedback would be appreciated.

Has the medication helped you at all? I'm not on anything at the moment but thinking about going to the doctors to give myself a little extra help

Would you say you have recovered then? It just scares me when an attack hits and I'm alone

That sound very much like mindfulness you can find lots of guided versions of this on YouTube which may help.

If you sit a feel how it is making you feel physically and mentally. Knowing that it is just feelings and you are not your feelings then picture them passing like a speeding train or floating cloud it may help
