The lump (as long as we are talking about the regular post-op lump that was there/that you found roughly starting a week or so after surgery) is likely scar tissue and normal. May actually remain permanently. I still have lumpy ends under my c-section incision 4 years after the op. My husband has a permanent lump at one of the ends of his lung surgery incisions.

Have you been back to see your surgeon 30 days or so post-op? Was the lump there then?

if we are talking about the same thing, some pain will be there for a while depending on pressure exerted on the area. This too is normal. But if something feels off do have a word with your surgeon.

      Hi Purple~

Yes. I been back to my surgeon after post-op till now coz of my epigastric pain radiated to back and shoulder and also for my pain around belly where firstly Doctor suspect is incision hernia then now suspect is abdominal adhesion.

I not sure about the lump at there o not after op. I know is 4 o 5 weeks after op, I heard a 'POP' from there then come along with pain. after tht, i keep checking my belly n the lump.. sometimes the lump will slight big than normal, sometimes will small but not a bulge like hernia.

I will check back agian on my next review as I going travel to HK visit my grandma. Wish me good luck~

Is that going to be relatively soon though?

Have you had any issues with bowel movements or pain after eating? Or is it only during exercise/lifting?

Before op, I everyday hv BM.. after op, 2-3 days 1 time BM. Pain after eating maybe in 1 week, 2-4 days will have epigastric pain tht radiated to shoulder or my back juz like GB stone attack but not super pain. The pain not only during exercise and lifting. When I turn around to take a paper, coughing, sneezing will have the pain. The pain become strong  when bending over to sneeze and coughing. It sounds like I hv a incision or umbilical hernia but i dont hv a bulge there. Maybe the defect is too small, just like my doctor said too small even ct scan also cant detect.

Did you have keyhole Surgery?  How long after the op did you start exercising again.?

Yes. Keyhole surgery. now is post op 8 months start doing sit-ups. before this, i do some sit-ups after 3 o 4 months then heard 'POP' sound then follow around belly incision pain.

That "pop" that you describe followed by pain sounds exactly like a small hernia under the incision site. Can you push the lump back under the skin? if you can, then keep pushing it back and the tear may heal by itself. If you cannot then it is probably just a lump of scar tissue.  If it is a hernia, then doing sit-ups will not help it to heal. You may have overdone that exercise too soon after the op.

But why will feel slighty pain when doing sit-ups and certain move? juz right side abit from my belly an have a small red dot at there. The small red dot appear after the 'pop' sound and can touch. Feel like a small pimple but not.
