A month later?

I was admitted to the hospital about a month ago for what I thought were kidney stones that turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. They cleared me for any stones or infections at the time. Now I'm experiencing what I've come to recognize as pretty intense pain in my kidneys. Could this be a stone even tho they said there wasn't one a month ago or is it just a bad uti or infection? No fever or nausea just you standard almost crippling flank and rib pain with constant need to pee and burning.

This sounds like UTI to me. It may be that you have a kidney stone as well. If you get recurrent UTIs you have possibly got a kidney stone.

Take care and keep in touch

I am a man, therefore I am far from being an expert about this, but I just wanted to mention that my wife had an ovarian cyst at one point, which they treated, but she still had excruciating pain. Finally a female doctor(yes, in this case I believe gender made a difference) saw her and suspected an ovarian torsion. She was right. She fixed it and the pain went away. The male doctors who had seen her for the weeks leading up to the female specialist were absolutely CLUELESS. None of them even mentioned an ovarian torsion. This female doctor knew more about my wife in 5 minutes than they did in several weeks.

I forgot to mention that her pain presented in the flank, near the kidney.
