A NEW BV antibiotic on the market!!! A MUST READ!

I have been itching my way through life after my first encounter with BV 2.5 years ago.
I have spent countless TIME trying to find a cure, a fix, a something.
Nothing works.
No home remedies.
No antibiotics.
I have found that their is a link to BV with having a vitamin D deficiency. (GET CHECKED!!!)
Once I started taking a vitamin D3 supplement ($20 for a year supply) it resolved.
...back to itching again after a few months.
Low and behold, even with taking 5000 IU a day of vitamin D3 I find out I'm deficient again.
So, I will take more. simple enough.
But then I read about a new antibiotic for BV. (yes, I still research...because I still itch, while waiting for my vitamin D levels to work themselves out)
SOLOSEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will say I was elated to see a new drug available and RAN to my GYNO to ask for a script. I was grateful that I was able to get the script but pretty p****d off that she knew about it and never offered it to me, as it was FDA approved in 2017. UGH
I took Solosec this morning....and I havent itched ALL DAY!
I'm not sure if this is "THE FIX" but a little about me............
The only symptom I have is itching...ONLY because I dont have sex. At ALL. I know if I were to have sex the smell would be horrendous...no thank you. Periods are non-existent because I am postmenopausal, or I'd have the smell, the itch and the discharge. So, this is the only reason I am happy being an old women (47) with this issue.
I was disturbed when I put Solosec in the search bar and only one hit with someone mentioning it in a comment.....and then it got bypassed and over looked.
I havent NOT had an itch in years.... until today.
Please ladies...get your vitamin D checked.
Ask about this new antibiotic.
Good luck! ❤️

How bad was the Solosec to take? I have heard it has strong taste. please let me know if it helps you bv. Right now I am in my third BV reoccurrence. my new specialist thinks it havent been treated long enough and it never went away. i am now trying the metro gel instead of pill. im also on the six month suppression (twice a week . for six months).
i upped my probiotic too.

I mixed the Solosec with a a cup off pudding. (doc suggested not to use the applesauce because it tends to dissolve it) You have to gulp it (no chewing allowed) so I tasted mostly pudding. Honestly, it might have had a taste but being desperate I would of ate dog poo if it works. It wasnt that bad though.
Today I have had a slight itch but nothing like I'm used to. I dont expect it to work fully with my vitamin D levels down. (It can take months for levels to normalize) However, I still hold out hope that maybe, just maybe this will be the answer. Solosec stays working for 4 days and I just took it yesterday so we will see.
I did the Metro gel for a period of time too. In my opinion, its just a temporary fix. Eventually it stopped working altogether because my body built up an immunity to it. (at least thats what it felt like)
Let me know how your 6 months go. I will keep you informed on my progress too.
Thanks 😃

Thank you for the information regarding Solosec (kind of would like to have it as a back up plan ) 😃. I have had low vit D in the past. I started at a level of 9 about five years ago and it took me that long to get it to a 30. I actually just started having bv problems this year (believe due to estrogen dropping/perimenopause. I still take tons of Vit D. Will let you know how my six month journey goes....Please keep me updated on Solosec.
Thanks!

Well its been two weeks today since I took the Solosec.....and guess what? NO ITCH! NONE! I dont even know when it went away because I've been so caught up in a new job that I just forgot about it. (I know hard to believe but after itching for 2.5 years you learn to live with it like its another limb on your body)
The only other thing I have done during this past two weeks is upped my Vitamin D3 an additional 15,000 IU a week. NO DOUBT in my mind that Vitamin D plays a part but I dont think it would have upped my levels that quick to give it all the credit.
So, I recommend again the Solosec.
WooHoo...time to celebrate!
