A new doctor to find 😏

Hello to all. These horrid sensations are about finishing me! I have been having terrible scary head feelings like off balance, heavy nearly dizzy-like. I'm scared to move or do anything! After seeing my own Dr Re menopause, I was referred to a Gynaecologist...well!...never again, I won't be going for a follow up visit, what an attitude he had, there's was no 'connection' to enable any sort of good conversation & any question I had seemed to be shrugged off. He asked me a few questions regarding meno symptoms & a score was given to determine what sort of meno I was in or near ( natural or whether I was on medication) he said take Livial, no explanation about it & when I questioned about side effects etc his answer was almost like " take it & see what happens" what the hell?!  Will this wobbly spacey head stop? Will any of this crap stop? HRT isn't possible, I tried magnesium, B vitamins, herbal tablets, eating better with less sugar & salt. For personal reasons I'm now doing this meno all natural without taking anything...please tell me it will end!. With my Dr on leave for an unknown time it looks like I'll be finding a new one. I've had recent blood test, bone density scan, mammogram/ultrasound, they've all come back normal. In the meantime think I'll shrivel up in a corner & pray this will pass & I will survive 😞

Hugs to all

Are you sure this symptom is meno related? Sounds like maybe blood pressure or vertigo/inner ear to me. I'd find a new doctor for sure. That one didn't sound interested and that's no help!

Hi NuttyNan I was just getting ready for bed and I noticed you needing a bit of help and reassurance

I too have the heavy head, feel drunk, lightheaded, off balance feeling, I've been in such despair living my life as if I'm disabled. I've turned my whole household upside down its affected my relationship withy husband & family, at times I've had feelings as if I'm going insane

This will pass all of it, try & change the way you think about the symptoms just let them be there and try and get on as much as you can. Remember focussing on symptoms only create more and makes them stronger

I've been on livial for 3 months and don't know if it's made any difference. I've never had any hot flushes just mainly the above

I've also experienced the same frustration as you with the Dr and gynos ignorance about these symptoms so there's no point in wasting your time going to them

One thing I have noticed which you should look into is I have chronic hyperventilation if you check out the symptoms you'll find they're the same as you have described. I read that menopause amongst other things can cause a 25% reduction in co2 in the body which affects nerve receptors and capillaries in the brain this can cause dizziness weird head sensations etc

Hope you can find some peace believe me I know what it's like but your having severe meno symptoms at the moment which will gradually ease and disappear

    Here's to the good times

    Good night x

    Hi NuttyNan,

I know how you feel. I remember years ago when I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I ws 26 I went to see this Gynaecologist who I must say had the empathy of a dead fish and was a tad touchy feely, he didn't care about how I was feeling at all. Fast forward to a couple of years ago, a new Dr and a Female Gynaecologist, both were empathetic to what I ws experiencing and the Female Gyno even drew a picture to explain the procedure I was about to have...it made so much difference. Deffinately look for another Dr, someone who maybe specialises in Womens Health?

I'm soon to be 51 (in 2 days time) and have been in Perimenopause for the last 2 years, my syptoms have ramped up abit in the last 6 months, complete with daily headaches, high blood pressure which I have medication for and the constant tiredness that I can't seem to shake. I am so glad that this site exists, I live in Australia and I don't know of a similar site where I am. We are all going through this together and are here for each other and most importantly we are not going through this alone.

    Sending big hugs x

How are Anna? funny you said your Gyno had the empathy of a dead fish, that's exactly what I said about the one I saw 😤 I too take blood pressure meds, there's times when my BP rises & that makes me feel terrible causing me to feel heady & my face gets so hot. OMG! I'll be glad to see the end of all this...that day can't come quick enough! Nearing the 12mth mark can symptoms intensify & get worse? have wondered

I take a beta blocker for heart palpitations. Sometimes my blood pressure actually gets low and that causes the dizzy head you describe. So while we tend to think about high blood pressure. It may actually be getting low at times. I get up and move around while I'm at work. The doctor said sitting for long periods of time may cause blood to pool to my feet and cause the dizzyness. Just a thought.

      Hi NuttyNan,

How are you? I'm having a not so good day today but slowly getting there. I've noticed that my blood pressure goes through the roof and other days were it's normal and I don't need to take my BP Meds. The other week I had a reaction to the body wash (soap free) I use and my face became all splotchy, looked like I had 3rd degree burns...luckily I have now changed to another brand of soap free wash QV... For me although it's been 2 years of Peri I have to say the last 6 months have been the worst, especially the headaches, mood swings and the acne & splotchy face, not to mention constantly feeling like s**t. I can't remember the last time I felt well or didn't have a headache, body aches etc Like you, I too wish for the day when this ends, here's hoping & fingers crossed that it's not too far away, until then take care.

      Hugs x

Morning NuttyNam,  I know the feeling about certain doctors and especially men gyne's,  try finding a women,  they are always better as the understand us as they go through the same symptoms,  sometimes doctors are only out to make money !! sad but true,  I believe that becky221 has the right idea and maybe check out they inner ear and blood pressure,  please dont suffer through this without some type of medication help,  believe me they do help as you cannot go onto HRT, you also might need an anti depressant to get through the anxiety and feeling like you just want to curl up in a corner!! I really hope you feel better soon, biggrin
