A New Drug

Hi everyone, not long in from shopping and not long after reading my mail.  A letter from my drs practice stating "Letter from Dr. G. Wright, consultant rheumatologist" stating that I have to get in touch with my own gp regarding a new drug to be commenced.   To be continued.  I will be asking a lot of questions re: new drug.  What is it for?  Where can I read up on the study of this new drug?  How many people has it been tested on?  Also other variables that were taken into consideration.  Any comments welcome and thank you in advance.

Hi pat, yes how interesting is this! Your rheumatologist hasn't discussed anything with you regarding new medication, and the first you hear of it is via a copied in letter from them to your GP.

All the best, but just a word of caution, you are quite right to ask all the questions and don't forget they cannot make you take any medication that you don't agree to. Please let us know of all developments, christina

Hi Christina, yes it seems like some kind of mystery and I have to find out what this mystery is.  When I went for my first and only Rheumy appt, he never even asked for bloods done.  I asked him about Dexa scan, further down the line.  I didn't even get the medication that he prescribed for me.  A. Acid.  No way without a scan.  My aches and pains are more muscular. Yes to be continued and will definitely post when I find out.  Pat
