I hope this is not a silly question , but I've had LS now for 9 months, my question is can you still lead a normal life I would like to go abroad for a holiday this year but I'm worried if the heat would make LS worst , grateful for any info .

My experience is to not let it get in the way of normal life, I've travelled a lot since having it. Just make sure you have all medications with you and enjoy your holiday.

I find summertime to be easier on my LS Lorraine. For one you're not trussed up in tight trousers or leggings. Just wearing skirts sometimes with no underwear made so much difference. As pollyanne said don't let it get in the way of living your life.. The more you stress the worse it'll be..

Hi I went on holiday when I had symptoms of LS but the doctors didn't know what was wrong, this was last summer. I actually thought my symptoms were slightly better on holiday, maybe the salt water from the sea helped, I'm not sure. I would just keep up with your normal treatment and not let it get in the way of enjoying your holiday.

I'd say don't let it set you back in life. I've got LS and I'm moving abroad from Canada to Vietnam next week. I'm seeing my gyno before I go, getting a wee stock of my steroid cream, I've done research on different essential oils that might be able to help, I'm doing everything I can to make sure I can deal with any flare-ups while away as I realize it's going to take me a while to find a doctor that I can trust and work with. But seriously, I will not allow LS to inhibit me from living my life and don't let it do that to yours!

Some women have found swimming in the ocean helpful, it seems to  help with the LS, its the salt. I think if you take your creams and potions you should be just fine.

I have had LS for about 8 years.   I have travelled abroad many times to both hot and cooler climates.  Don't let this control you

I felt like you. I was diagnosed in 2014 & went away with some trepidation but I have subsequently found that being relaxed & being able to wear skirts without tights & lighter weight cotton trousers didn't cause any problems. I just wish I could go away more often. I avoided chlorine pools & made sure I maintained my routine of using Dermovate etc....  Enjoy but make sure your Travel Insurers have been advised.

Absolutely! We were living in Hawaii which stays around 80 year round. We recently moved to a state in th U.S. Experiencing winter and the weather doesn't seem to make any difference on mine. I also didn't have any extra issues while flying for 10 hours.

For me, there are three enemies with LS. STRESS, SUGAR,and SWEAT! However, we are all different though most of us find sugar and stress to be a common problem. Sweat just wreaks havoc for me. Very important if I'm in a sweat, to quickly shower/spray off the area. If you find you do flare from sweat, simply take a bottle of water with a pinch of baking soda with you and spray off and dab dry and you should be fine if you address it quickly. If I'm at home, I tend to jump into the shower and spray off the sweat and cool the genital area.

hi Lorraine. you'll probably feel better on your holiday with the reduction in stress. Like others have said here, salt water seems to be reallly good for LS so swim in the sea as much as you can. Chlorine can be very irritating, I always avoid pools. Enjoy your holiday.
