A POEM TO HELP YOU ON YOUR WAY.

Hi Everyone,

With both my hip surgeries, I did, at times, feel extremely low. Residing on my own and coping with all the restrictions; it was tough. I love to write poetry and I have composed the following for all of you who may be feeling as I did.

YOU ARE.

iN THE DARKNESS YOU STAND FEELING HELPLESS AND WEAK.   THE CLOUDS TURN GREY.  YOUR SPIRITS' FALLS.  THE SHADOWS DARK AND GRIM.  TURN AWAY MY FRIENDS FROM THOSE DARK THOUGHTS TO SEEK THE PERSON WITHIN.   YOU ARE AN OYSTER IN WHICH CONTAINS A PRECIOUS PEARL.   A RAINBOW AGLOW WITH SPLENDIFEROUS LIGHTS.   A CLOUD DANCING IN THE SWEET REDOLENT BREEZE.   A NIGHT SKY ABALAZE WITH CORUSCATING STARS.   A NEW BUTTERFLY AWAITING TO SPREAD ITS WINGS.   ALL OF THESE THINGS YOU ARE MY FRIENDS.   YOU MY FRIENDS.   YOU ARE.

I have had to write it as one paragraph.

God Bless you all.

Love, Blessings and Hugs,

Maureen xxx

I'm pleased that I wrote it and that you felt it.  I think most people, after hip replacement, feel deeply emotional and it's so tough. And the only way, to truly understand, is to have endured it.

      Take Good Care,

      Love Maureen

I'm so pleased Renee.  It was composed with emotion.  In fact, all of my poetry is born from some form of emotion. I can't really explain it, but the words just fall into my head.

      Take Care honey,

      Love Maureen xxx

It is just a sweet testament of what we crawl through and how we are all willing to get down there right with you because each of us has been there .We have wonderful people like Renee and Graham willing to help catch and release as we grow through this . Don't you feel that this has really stretched you as a human being? We do make it through the clouds . 👏💐

It's tough going, not just physically, but also emotionally.  However, somehow, we manage to get through and put it down to just another obstacle within life's pathway.

At the end of the pathway, we find an open gate that leads into a field of golden buttercups.

      Take Care,

Thanks morriewynn. Just beautiful and you know we all understand your lovely poem intimately.

I had revision jan-3 in rehab for 20 days. The food was atrocious. Hope you have better food at home. My pain meds were always  3-5 hours late bringing me right back to original pain after surgery.almost went to ER. NO PAIN MEDS SO LATE  Sent me back by hours to recover. So mabe your better off going home on your own. These places are unbelievable. I got one shower in 20 days and no help as I was considered independent. They had no clue this was a revision all parts removed and broken femor . The femor and new 10" implant were cabled together. Mabe I can hang some grape vines.LOL It was not a great place yet had great recommendations.

Its over and I am home. And believe me I hit a lot of those dark days with no pain meds but we do survive. I feel like that butterfly ready to spread my wings above the pain and misery. It's done over and it was a recalled hip metal on metal by Stryker. All the components had to be removed  with a slap hammer. Lovely tools for THR. Most similar to my tool kit as I was conscious when brought in the surgical arena while suited up personal were setting all the parts and tools out by the hundreds.

I may may fly by you this summer look for a butterfly stopping by for a quick drink from a puddle on your patio. 🦋
