A positive (so far) story

long time lurker, first time poster

suffered from piles since i was around 18 (31 now!)

GP here in the UK have not been great, taking the approach of 'heres some cream... take some laxatives, call in a month if no better'

while this for a while did work, since april this year i had pain and discomfort after every bm

it was hell. i was losing my mind.

the NHS is failing, i was totally unsupported so i did some research and got booked in privately to see a consultant

long story short, im 3 days post banding where he double banded 4x stage 3 hems. he also removed some skin tags while i was under

i am improving every day, i have some discomfort from the tag removal and some extra gas and a full feeling but overall, looking good so far

whether this is short term or not, who knows. but i thought id give a positive story here as theyre so rare.

i will update as i heal

Id be interested to hear how you go.

I had 3 stage 3 internal hems banded in Jan.

The bleeding crept back in in a matter of weeks so unfortunately for me it did not work.

did you have bleeding with most bm?

mines gone back to approx 2 times a week 😦

i really don't want to have banding again and certainly don't want the surgery.

The bleeding does make me anxious but if its just the hems I think I can live with it.

    Hope you're doing good.
