A thoughtful, useful gift for friend.

My friend, who I met online, has Sjogren's. She is always there for me. I want to give her a gift that will be conforting. She said that she has mild to moderate and runs a low grade temp all the time. And she is tired all the time but works full time. I couldn't find a form for friends and family. Not much info on Sjogren's. What would be a thoughtful gift? I'm sorry but I don't know where else to go. Thank you.

You can heat wheat packs up in the microvave and they are so flexible that you can use them anywhere on your body..I have one shaped for around my kneck and two square ones, you can usually get them from the chemist or craft shop I have even bought some from the markets, in fact you can make your own!! Hope it helps, be blessed LizMarie, have a lovely day..💐💐😘

A donation in her name to the Sjogren's foundation of her country? In the States the only research that gets done is research paid for by the national foundation, which depends mainly on donations.

A care pack with xylitol-sweetened gum & mints, as these aren't harmful to our teeth but are moisturizing. The only brand I know if in the States is called Spry, and they ain't cheap.

You are a good and considerate friend.

Ugh. There definitely needs to be more research. It is ridiculous on how little information there is.

My friend is having a lot of trouble with her teeth (which need to be pulled). Would that regarding the gum? Thank you!!!!!

If she needs to have her teeth pulled, gum isn't a good idea and I'm not so sure about the mints, either. As you probably know, the lack of moisture in our mouths is hard on our gums and teeth.

If she has delicate/sensitive skin like most of us, she might enjoy a special washcloth. Pure 100% silk -- NOT raw silk due to odor and not "spasilk" which isn't silk -- can be very gentle on our skin. Or what I use now, something called "wonder cloth all natural makeup remover" It is "Straight line fibers" and looks funny, made of cotton & rayon, but I love it. I use for face and body. If you're in the States, I buy them in bricks-mortar bed, bath & beyond, hanging on that front wall. I throw them in the washer but never the dryer.

I also use a rich olive oil based body cream, skin organics unscented, skin by Ann webb. You can also give organic coconut oil for use on skin. I use that some because it's cheap but it doesn't have as long an effect on my skin as the other stuff. Also, coconut oil takes longer to soak in. I have neutral ph skin and I suspect that the coconut oil devotees have a different ph.

Oh thank you. And thank you for telling me where to buy everything. I had no idea there were so many things that would be comfortable and useful. We both live in the States, although 1000 miles apart. Thank you 🙂.
